Ugh. Why do brewers do this. Maple is WAY too intense! I can't taste the base beer anymore. Bourbon is almost undetectable. I keep trying alt versions of my fav beers hoping for SUBTLE added flavors. But it rarely happens. Not BAD, but could be better.

Fridat. Very maple heavy. I much prefer the regular BB.

Very sweet. Good for 1 but probably not much more.

A bit too far in the ‘French Toast’ direction, but quite a unique beer in it of itself!

It's been awhile, but I really like Backwoods Bastard. I'll have to have it again, but I prefer that to this. I need to avoid "French toast" beers. The addition of maple & cinnamon is a bit of a mess. The booze is nice but not redeeming. Thin for a heavy.

Huge maple syrup flavor. A little cinnamon and vinalla on the back end. Honestly a lot sweeter than I anticipated.

Could never drink it.. it's so heavy in the alc that it's hard to swallow but wow, spot on with the French toast. I mean, exactly spot on with the flavor.

French toast in a bottle! It's a bit much, to be honest, especially the first sip. And definitely seems sweeter than it needs to be. Still, it's fun and definitely evokes the name.

🔥 🍺 Friday. Not a huge fan of this very muddled and syrupy Charles S.

this smells like when you’ve had some meat or something in the fridge too long and other stuff starts to smell like it. the vanilla/cinnamon/maple on the palate is accompanied by a bitter finish. maybe we have to wait on this one.

Aroma is rich with cinnamon, vanilla, and maple. Palate is similar. The body is medium plus and velvety smooth. Definitely a sipper. Abv is pretty well hidden.

Man was hoping for better, French toast is here at least

Good but too much vanilla/maple action. Just overpowering and missing the scotch bite in the original. Great aroma however.

Can a beer be to sweet. This might be the closest to syrup a beer has been. Really sweet and really strong.
