French Toast Bastard

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Backwoods Bastard gets the 4-star breakfast treatment. Our bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale is introduced to maple syrup, cinnamon, and sweet vanilla for a decadent brunch-inspired sipper. Breakfast for dinner, anyone?

At Dan G's house. World Famous Joe D showed up. Sweet maple flavor. A good dessert beer.

Maple hue w syrup and cinnamon on the nose. The palate is sweet w pancake syrup, cinnamon and some malty notes. The finish is sticky sweet w some residual maple

Boozy for this many beers deep. Should be a breakfast beer with the maple syrup flavor.

Breakfast for dinner. Yum-Yum. Syrupy, maple, cinnamon, brown sugar butter, like your favorite classic breakfast meal.

The blend of maple, vanilla, and a touch of cinnamon make this a wonderful desert drink.

Strong and moderately boozy with a good wallop of maple flavor that lingers quite a while.

Tastes like an actual French toast breakfast, syrup and all. Very sweet, but very tasty.

(Late) Thanks LB. It's up there. That nose...Definitely a Smell The Glass afterwards beer too. AND a Snarl And Gnash Teeth At Hand That Tries To Take Your Empty Glass beer. Yes--THAT too.

This is fantastic. Nose is wild but the syrup flavors and body is there. One of my favorite stouts I think.

P: light honey brown, mod foam. S: wow, maple syrup 100%! Brown sugar. Med body, dryer. T: maple syrup to the face! Sweetness is there upfront but leave quickly to dryness. Not thick enough to stick but nice while itโ€™s there. A nice sipper.

Yep, tastes like you dipped French toast in a bourbon-barrel-aged scotch ale, then drizzled it with maple syrup. Yowza.
