Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019)

Stout - Imperial / Double Coffee

What we’ve got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. Makes your taste buds squeal with delight.

Not as good as I remembered, possibly due to the age?

Hersheys bar with a high abv! One of the last old bottles taking up basement space and it’s still solid

This stout is amazingly tasty without trying too hard. This beer manages to be perfectly balanced with notes of bourbon, coffee, vanilla and chocolate. This beer should be a reference for all breweries attempting to brew a no-BS barrel aged imp. stout.

Ahhhh, good old KBS. Nice to find a bottle in Sydney. The coffee makes it different to other bourbon barrel stouts.

Blijft een topper. Chocolade, karamel, bourbon. Boozy and fun. Leuk om het weer eens van de tap te kunnen drinken. Duurt wel even voordat die op zijn beste temperatuur is, maar is het waard. Mediumbitter.

This is before KBS became constantly available, and after aging it exactly 3 years this is pretty darn good. Definitely has legit bourbon flavor to it which is not always the case with BB stouts. I wonder what bourbon they use.

More booze than the 2017. Not as refined in the roasty or chocolate department either.

I've had one of these from the 4 pack I bought each year for the last 4 years now. I think by this point it sat a little too long. Still a great beer but not as good as in years past
