Hoppier than I generally like my barleywines to be, but I'll try one later with a shot of amaretto to sweeten and warm it.

Drank about half before I could decide to put it over a 4 or not. Good stuff! 11.2% doesnโt taste like it. Smooth!

Piney, hoppy, bubblegum fruitiness & caramel on the nose. Silky-smooth body w/ tongue-prickling carbonation. Palate starts w/ sweet caramel malts, transitioning to date, fig & dark sugars. Finish is clean & piney, cutting through the sweetness. Sneaky ABV

Great front, weird butt. But toward the end, it doesn't even matter. ๐

Boozy, roasty & malty, how can one not like this barleywine ale from Founders? And it has an ABV similar to wine at 11.2%!

I know that I usually rate everything pretty high, but this was kind of boring for a Barleywine. Surprising, especially for Founders. ๐

I guess it does say Barleywine on the bottle in fucking lawyer print. Be more bold. Be out and proud that you're a Barleywine. Thanks William the Dr B.

Malty. Nice and thick with a mild bitter finish. A hoppy Belgian ale. Nice.

A hoppy barleywine? Different. Good strength. Not getting much of the barleywine flavors - fairly simple overall. Way too much carbonation on pour - meh mouthfeel. Good hoppy finish - one positive. Not bad but so many better out there
