I’m not very familiar with barleywines, but this one is very bitter.

Les premières gorgées sont perturbantes… bon OK les dernières aussi. Quand on comprend ce qu’on boit ça passe mieux, au début ça fait médicament. Malt grillé, avec une patate de houblon résineux. C’est amer, astringent. Pas ma came mais originale.

Dark pour, like a dark plum or night sky. Medium to large head. Smells of alcohol and a toasty smell. Very bitter flavor with toasted malt notes. Despite motley 75 IBU it tastes way more bitter. Warming and interesting ipa alternative.

Nailed it on style. Slight bitter on finish and lots of roasted oak malt flavor. Great sipping beer that isn’t too complex but still makes you think.

This is going to age well, but it is not there yet. The hops are not great right now so they need some time. The maltiness seems nice - maybe a bit too sweet - but it is hard to tell.

Wowser, thick malty sweet with roasty, bitter and piney taste, quite boozy, wasn’t a fan of Barley Wines but beginning to get more of a liking, not sure I’ll ever be a fan, but drinkable and ok now and then

Weer een BW style ale. Daardoor stevig in de hop maar ook zeker zoet.

More hops than I care for in my barleywine. Reminded me of Bigfoot.

Tonaca di frate scura, velata, schiuma nocciola. Naso alcolico, tostato, bourbon. Al palato si sente troppo l'alcool, poco equilibrio, ma comunque abbastanza piacevole

Barley wine med smaker av torkade frukter, karamell och bourbon. Känns inte helt färdig och mår nog bäst av lagring.

Ach ja, een Barley zoals ik hem liever niet drink, namelijk die met een bitter erin..and offcourse its a USA brewery, so ....dus..ik proef een Barley en wat zoets, maar die bitter maakt hem NIET mijn ding..🍺

Zoet vol en rond met een verassende afdronk. Piney staat bij het flavor profile. Dit is mijn eerste barley wine. Door die afdronk wordt het niet te zwaar en zoet. Bier met twee gezichten. Goed.

Rich full flavour but very bitter for a barleywine, even an American barleywine with a lot more hops in it.
