Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter

Brown Ale - American

They don't make 'em like they used to... or do they? The bottle shop series is a tribute to the folks who supported ragtag brewer's across the country when craft beer was in its infancy. when beer enthusiasts sought out innovation through big flavor, in your face complexity and revered quality above all else. This series is for you: the distinguished beer connoisseur still seeking the revolution that energized the industry we know today -- that settles for nothing less then the very best!

Reminiscent of an old fashioned but not in a good way for me. I love beers and I love old fashioneds but they are better as separate things.

Ugh. Not my kind of beer. Bourbon barrel and other stuff that does not mix well.

I was pulled in by clever marketing tactics. Seems a terrible way for a Bourbon barrel to end its life.

Beautiful dark red. With a thin head. Syrup and dryed fruits to the nose. A very "whiskey" mouth with vanilla and figs. Sweet orange marmalade. Maybe a beer to "forget" in the fridge for a couple of years.
