Stiff Upper Lip

Full bodied silky smooth palate, mild carbonation. Big coffee roast with smooth oats. Some licorice and chocolates. Dry roasted bitterness in the finish. Perfectly balanced with all flavors in place.

Smoky nose. More barky than I remember. I was surprised when I saw the 70 IBU, but yeah, there's a fair bit of tree in this. Roasty dark chocolate. Does not taste like 12%, nor do I get bourbon. Good, but not as good as I remember though. 3.85

I'm a sucker for a Bourbon barrel stout, I guess. I've never had KBS, but I knew of it. It's not quite as complex as BCBS in terms of flavors, but it was still good. Plus, it was $5 off! Can't beat that.

I have always thought regular KBS is the best (and espresso) and this still lives up to that. It's still great but it seems to have gotten thinner. Those barrel characters aren't what they used to be imo.

I think KBS was one of the first BBA Coffee Stouts I ever tried. I’ve had many more from other brewers as well since then. This has always been a go to every year it comes out. If you haven’t tried one yet then maybe you should. Cheers y’all.
