Bourbon notes on the nose are noticeable

The bourbon barrel overwhelms the lager and you just get a watery bourbon barrel flavored lager. I've had worse barrel aged brews for sure, but this one just falls flat of what could have been.

Ok... This just SOUNDS like a bad idea, so I only got a 5oz... Bourbon barrel aged German style Oktoberfest Märzen?!?! No aroma at all. Very burbon flavor. Almost NO beer flavor at all. Thats why most bourbon beers are heavier, darker styles.

Barrel-aging adds an interesting layer, would be interesting to try against their regular Oktoberfest

Not too bad. Gotta love a solid already Octoberfest beer from you, then barrel age it. Gives it a smoother bourbon feel with the marzen taste.

Sweet nose. Boozy forward. Rich, boozy, caramel malt flavors. Strong. Bourbon, boozy, woody notes. Good BA oktoberfest

Been a longtime Founders fan. Have not been that impressed with these new beers these past few years. Seems like they are more concerned about using existing ingredient inventory rather than making exceptional beers (Curmudgeon, Tank Bender, DKML, Doom).
