Also asked Burl if he had any vintage Harvest Ale

I think it’s held up. Reminds me more of an old ale now, but I am good with that. Still has strong bourbon character, and a little wood-y.

Huh! Still very effervescent and quite sweet. Has a smooth velvety texture that finishes a bit chalky bringing notes of vanilla, coconut, prunes, sherry, and chocolate pudding. On the verge of losing character but complex and still tasty.

Very thin and little head when poured, barrel has taken a back seat to the toffee, biscuity, base beer with slight hints of vanilla, fig and peppery anise.

Had in 2022. A little toned down. But it surprisingly still had some decent scotch flavoring.

Still decent but likely past it’s prime. Notes of caramel, bit of fruity esters, and not much else. Extremely smooth with zero alcohol heat remaining, you’d never know it’s >10%. Drink ‘em if you got ‘em!

These definitely have a shelf life. This one is the best of the series I've been enjoying, starting with 2012. 2017 is left. Interested to see how that one is. Thanks Brandon S.!

Not what I remember it being but that's the lesson I'm learning in aging beer

This has aged insanely well. Rich layers of biscuit, cocoa powder, toffee, caramel, butterscotch, oak, vanilla, nuts and figs. Not strikingly different than newer vintages, which is kinda good, but if anything its just richer

Nose is still boozy but the sip is mellow. Fig & raisin is front & center. Finish of toasted coconut, tangy dark fruit, molasses ending with a smoky dry burnt sugar bitterness. Aged quite well, thanks Ricky!
