Backwoods Bastard (2015)

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice, and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

Wow the2015. Sometimes wish i could write a sophisticated review like i taste marshmellow, nutmeg, orange blossom, whatever. I just taste what i like, and it is best WE BBA I've ever had; it still holds true. Not as hot now, but its still rich.

Last 2015 I have. May have been the best vintage throughout. Still amazing how the flavors interplay but a bit of olde tYme attitude from this warrior is the cherry on top.

Decided after the week I had it’s time. Four years of the bastard! Smooth dried fruit with a hint of oak. This sucker is good

I had this one aging for 5 years now. Time to pop it. The oak flavor is more pronounced than ever, but so very smooth with no burn at all.

I have to say this held up and aged phenomenally. Rich caramel toffee and slight smoky undertones. Tons of vanilla and plays well with oak bourbon barrel.

A proper beer for some LOTR watching! 7 years later, it's like smooth toffee and tootsie roll pops.

Guess it’s time to celebrate a cm punk return to wwe. Never thought that would have happened. This one is drinking good. A lot of flavor sweet and malty.

Sublimely mellowed out. Still some tobacco and slight peat, but much thinner. Caramel and roasted coffee peak throughout, with a gentle vanilla oak combo.

Excellent. Smooth, soft mouthfeel. Good bourbon barrel flavor. Gets a little booze in the throat for a warm finish.
