KBS

Stout - Imperial / Double Coffee

This beer taught us that patience truly is a virtue. KBS is a big imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolate and then bourbon barrel-aged to perfection. Incredibly silky and full-bodied with notes of vanilla, cocoa, roasted coffee and charred oak.

Wow ! An ass kicker with a definite taste of bourbon as it is purportedly kept in bourbon barrels !

3/23 bottle. Nice aroma, smooth but flabby and oversweet. I guess this puts the previous "too old/ not a good year" thing to bed for me. Nothing special.

Drank the 2017 release. Bourbon undertones shines through perfectly. The coffee and chocolate flavor aged very well. A delightful imperial stout to drink for sure!

Mi experience with this leyend wasn't perfect. Not too much barrel, boozy, you can taste the alcohol. Lots of coffee. Great aroma when you open it.

Honestly, very nice. Strong Bourbon and chocolate aromas. And it drinks well, too

Grading beer. Should also go well with potato leek soup from homegrown ingredients.

Quite good! Thanks, JJ! I don’t usually rate dark beers very high, but this is good without being bitter or too sweeter.
