120 Minute IPA

IPA - Imperial / Double

The Holy Grail for hopheads! Clocking in at 15-20% ABV, 120 Minute IPA is continuously hopped with a copius amount of high-alpha American hops throughout the boil and whirlpool, and then dry-hopped with another pallet of hops. Unfiltered and abundently hoppy.

I am drinking 120 minute IPA from Dogfish head, ABV 16.60%, IBU 120. The taste is sweet, dark fruits, grapefruit and then there's pine resin at the end. It is a little bit boozy (who'd expect that at 16.6%) but it is boozy in a warm and subtle way. I thin

Holy shit. It really did age well. I kept a bottle in the fridge for 2+years, then bought a fresh bottle this week. The agreed bottle had a sweetness that is divine. Both bottles gave an ABV north of 15%, so I can barely type now. Yummy.

Reminded how sweet, smooth and boozy this IPA is. Time to put a few aside to age.

Bottled 3/22/18. Not as cloyingly sweet as it is when fresh, more balanced, more nutty, almost tannic like a red wine. Don't drink quickly otherwise you'll be wondering where you left your feet. They're in the umbrella stand!

Had it "fresh" and aged a year an half: fresh had more of an IPA bite but still smooth, almost barley wine drinakability with still IPA notes. Still prefer 90 Minute. Drink again.

Had this before I think from Clarence, but obviously didn't check it in. Nice light, extremely heavy hitter in the Imperial side of the IPA market. Smooth for the amount of strength in taste and texture, like it on all accounts, give it a try!

It’s been a MINUTE since I had this, and I can’t believe I never checked it in either. Back in my pre-Untappd heyday, I’d drink one of these with 1-3 years on it once per year, pre-BIL days no less. 😂 Anyways, this is delicious for what it is.

Wow. Quite strong but a really nice aroma. Worth trying and if you can get past the booziness, it has great flavor.

Wow! Strongest beer I've ever had. The booziness didn't hit me before the end. Initial association with Belgian quadruples. Impossible to rate. Big thanks to Reuben B. for the surprise from Delaware! 🍻 Maybe I should have let it age for another 10 years?

Not a big fan of IPAs. I can see why people like it but it’s heavy for me.

(retro rating from 2018) now this is more like it. Finally an IIPA from Dogfish that I can get behind.
