120 Minute IPA (2018)

IPA - Imperial / Double

Clocking in at 15-20% ABV, 120 Minute IPA is continuously hopped with a copious amount of high-alpha American hops throughout the boil and whirlpool, and then dry-hopped with another pallet of hops. Unfiltered and abundently hoppy, it's the Holy Grail for hopheads! We brew 120 Minute IPA a few times a year, but it goes fast. If you find some grab a few bottles -- some to enjoy and some to age.

Last of the four pack. Nose is a combo of figs, toffee, and rocket fuel. Drinks much, much smoother, though. Of note, this bottle is from the 17.1% batch for the vintage, since they seemed to vary.

Not much more to say. A classic 5 year hoppy American style barleywine. Malty and rich. Faint sweetness. Quite good

9-14-18 date 5 years aged is a good starting point for me. Not a big fan of this beer right out of the gate. Malty and sweet but not overly cloying. High ABV burn has faded this is enjoyable and 55 degrees out!!!

I haven’t had a fresh 120 in some time but this 5 year aged one is pretty good. Getting that warm feeling and subtle burn that I like from the usual boozy ales. Barely any kind of sediment which is appreciated. The flavor is complex and interesting.

Five years has done this one so well. Incredibly smooth and drinkable considering the strength of a fresh bottle.

Such a weird beer to rate. Real strong and boozy. I know it's an IPA but it looks and drinks sort of like a barleywine. I thought I was not going to like this but Melissa and I were both surprised.

A little forgotten, but very refreshing and warm in the belly. Celebrating small victories fixing the speakeasy. 1 of 2 chimney caps installed this evening.

Diggin deep in the vault tonight-bottled 04/19/18! Nose is spectac-malt bomb / grape / red licorice. Deep red hue + lots of yeast particles. Uber malty sweet - grape jam + fig. Still boozy, strong, w/ good CO2. Slow sippin while watching gnarly flick.

The color is dark caramel. The carbonation is trapped in the liquid not bubbling to form a head. Delicious.
