Raison D'Extra

Belgian Strong Dark Ale

A bigger, bolder version of our Raison D'Etre. This is a bulbous brown ale brewed with a bunch of malt, brown sugar and raisins.

Do not know what year. Probably at least 10 years. A bit past its prime but still nice.

An 8-year-old #EmersonBrooks Ale gets tastier & fuller while making life sweeter with each passing year. 8 really is great!

Strong malty and dried fruit aroma. Slightly boozy aroma warning. Unique amber brown color is cloudy. Strong sweet taste. Raisin retro nasal. Boozy after taste leads to dry/ tannin cleansing of the pallet.

Still a little hot with some residual acidity, but tastes nice on a rainy, stormy summer evening

Well I didn't realize this is a 16.5% beer when I popped the top! Big Belgian dark ale with tons of raisin and brown sugar. It's got a bit of alcohol burn on the way down. Pours flat and cloudy like thick muddy water. Bottled 12/18.

Sweet, but has sort of a tart/sour note that isn’t extremely pleasing. It’s definitely a little boozy and has a noticeable raisin palate and finish. The nose is raisin forward and sweet. Solid but not quite up my alley or up my ass.

Has to be at least five years old – I can’t tell by looking at the bottle the date, though

It just gets deeper & stronger with age. This 9-year-old packs quite a punch with all the flavor of the original, but better.
