Was in the mood for a BW, and wanted to #badgehunt. This is also the only IPA in the house 🤷

Bottles 7/10/2020… very delicious however doesn’t even hardly strike me as an IPA with that initial sip.

Cellared it appropriately and the sacrifice of time has paid off. A great beer 3 years later.

Dark raisins and stewed apples. Pretty good, but a few months out of peak.

3+ years old. Floaters. Doesn't resemble an IPA at all. Almost barleywine-esque. So good. So very good.

Aged super well. It’s like dried figs, caramel, English toffee, and butterscotch. Sad it’s my last 2020!

Been aging this one for 4 years. It did age very well indeed.

Still a great beer... even if I miss the good ol' days of the 18% stuff.

Exhumed this baby after an extra long sleep. It sips almost like an imperial IPA/barleywine cuvée — the sticky hop cones are front and center, but the liquid has developed a heady, treacle consistency. Potent stuff 🔥

This glass is as old as Sams first book, Brewing Up a Business

120 min once a white whale. The imperial India pale ale…now a classic and standard impossible to match. 4 years aged is a really nice baseline, Just my style

Just over 4 years in. It’s like a barleywine. Cheers Colby S.

Very nice! Big, floral aged hops & only slightly lesser orange bitters lead, w/ generous resin, spicy rye grain, caramel, fig, & jammy marmalade mid-palate, & green grape, understated smoke, lightly burnt brown sugar, & splash of Sherry @fin. 4.375.

So they are calling it a quadruple IPA now and it’s 15% abv, but it was an imperial/double a year ago and at 17% . Either way it still tastes great but the best thing about this beer is how well it ages. Will it do the same at a lower abv?

Immediately hit with a maltiness, as well as buttered crackers. But the more I drank the more the hops and a fun citrus flavor came through. Drinks like a 6% despite being 16%.

Had this last night...and fell asleep on the couch as a result. Truly outstanding big time hop bomb. The syrupy, resinous hop flavors swim in a malt mix that absolutely satisfies one's desire for a deep and layered treat of a drinking experience!

This is on spruce tips via Randall the Enamel Animal and is it a wonderful addition. It add a resinous character to the beer that highlights the IPA portion of this very malty and delightful ale.

This is brightly hoppy, but the malty undertones are balancing the intensity. The fusel strength is a a promise of a future mellowness.
