Floridito

Fruit Beer

Fresh from a trip from Florida, we wanted to recreate the feel of the pineapple mojitos we enjoyed there. We started with a base of pilsner malt and malted oats, then layered in lime juice, lime peel, demerara sugar and pureed pineapple. After a slow, cool fermentation we aged it on fresh, organic mint leaves and blended it with fermented cane sugar for a smooth, complex and refreshing flavor with plenty of vacation energy.

I thought I was drinking an IPA but fruit beer works I guess. Somewhat tastes like a mojito & is different with a mint tea-like flavor over tropical fruit. Fairly light, hazy & juicy, easy drinking. Very nice.

After reading the description, it's as described and spot on in execution. I went in without it and immediately thought it's what I think a pineapple mojito would be like. Never had one, but feel like the flavors work separately, but not together.

If you want a beer that tastes like a not-quite-sweet-enough pineapple mojito, this is the one.
