'STICKS IN THE MIDDLE!' A phrase common in pick-up hockey, it means 'It's game time!' A crisp, earthy and refreshing pilsner, Sticks in the Middle was brewed by co-workers Dan, Mark and Dogfish founder Sam Calagione, and was inspired by Sam's childhood memories of playing pick-up ice hockey! Brewed from pilsner malt that was smoked over Canadian cedar and caramel pilsner malts - malts harvested by Valley Malting Company less than 20 miles from where Sam grew up playing hockey - Sticks in the Middle has smokey, bready and malty sweet flavors, and just a hint of woodsyness. Lightly hazy and yellow straw in color, it was continually hopped with French Aramis hops and then finished with a charge of Czech Saaz and American Crystal hops.
