Still amazing how much the peanut is present. It was a bit acidic and sour after opening the bottle, but as time passed it got smoother. Its closer to a wine than a beer.

Compared to Double Svart, the acidity of the blackcurrant was smoothed by the barrel. Peanut shown up at room temperature. Wine-ish experience.

Smooth, not overly sweet, decent amount of basil, but not over the limit. I enjoyed it

Spice Melange Marosi

You have to let it get warmer to have the best experience. When nearing room temperature, I it had an amazing complexity of flavors like rum barrel, chipotle and cinnamon. I cant wait for more barrel aged meads from Mad Scientist.

Waking Up To Pomme Grenades Marosi

Fruitiness of strawberry and pomegranates, sourness of lime, sweetness of the honey. Some grapefruity bitterness at the end.

While I drank the DOUBLE version, I wanted a bit more sweetness and less sourness. Well, with this one I missed some sourness 😂 I think the perfect melomel lies in between these two.

I had this beer for my 20th birthday, back in 2019. This was my first beer from Mad Scientist, also my first mead. No wonder that this beauty became the best drink I've ever had, my one and only beer I rated 5/5. I cant stress enough:PLEASE!BRING IT BACK!

Full of fruit, so rich, so sour. If you like fruity sourness/aicid, its your beer. I prefer sweet over sour, so it wasnt the beer of my life.
