KBS Allen

Ha, ABV typo. This beer is still delicious. I find myself buying less since it’s available year-round, but it’s still a treat. Coffee-forward, rich with a fuller mouthfeel as it approaches room temp. Just a hint of bourbon. Go Rangers!

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Allen

Bottled 07-06-21. This is better than I remember it fresh. It’s like the best flavors of Dr. Pepper melded with forward yet zero-burn bourbon notes. Full but not heavy mouthfeel. Sweet but just moderately. Pity this is my last bottle of it.

Curmudgeon Old Ale (2016) Allen

Molasses nose. Flavors a complexity of sweet, bitter, toffee, oak. Thinner but with a fuller mouthfeel. It was better fresh but fun to drink something made in December 2026

Backwoods Bastard (2017) Allen

Love this beer so much. The rough edges have smoothed out. Sweet, rich fig flavor lingers with a touch of boozy warmth. Fresh is better, but this is still a good sipper on a chilly day with a good book (Where all light tends to go).

Lizard of Koz Allen

Better than when it was fresh. The saccharine note has fallen off while leaving deep sweet blueberry with chocolate. It’s way good. Floral-blueberry finish.

Imperial Stout Allen

Magnificent. Big deep dark chocolate flavor with sweet date, tobacco notes arriving ahead of a mouthwatering bitter bite. Brings a full mouthfeel and lingers like a boozed-up espresso shot.
