KBS Hazelnut (2022) Connolly

Took a sip... kinda .meh. Then I read some Untapped reviews & watched a little TV and took another sip....Wowza! Yeah... LET IT WARM! This is an outstanding Barrel aged Stout. Add Hazelnuts? Sooo good!

KBS Hazelnut Connolly

Poured big & frothy. Hazelnut & coffee nose. Ever so smooth. Coffee, chocolate, lotsa hazelnut and some barrel for sure. A hint boozy, but it is a 12% ABV! Finish was ok.... just a little dry & astringent. All in all.... a really good brew!

KBS Espresso Connolly

(Delayed review from a while ago). Excellent. Big coffee flavors with a bit of barrel.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Connolly

Pour it & took a sip. Pretty good. Let it warm / another sip / even better. Let it warm some more. Wow. Really good! Then: All of the flavors come thru: cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa & (of course) Boubon Barrel. This is a top notch Barrel Aged Stout.

Nemesis Connolly

Usually not a fan of American Style Barleywines. This doesn't taste like an American Barleywine, but I'm still not a fan. Huge malty nose; boozy; roasty, smokey flavors; piney, dry, chalky finish. I like the malty, roasty & smokey parts. Otherwise, no.

Hazy-O! Connolly

Monday at Ale House. Can 4 share. Lotsa oats. You can tell 'cause it has such a soft moutfeel. Citrus up front / tropical flavors / "soft" hop finish.

Panther Cub Connolly

Monday Ale House. Bottle 4 share. Really looked forward to tasting this, but kinda disappointed. No nose. Big vanilla up front. Various flavors (vanilla, maple, bourbon) should go together well. Misses the mark this time. Kind of a mish-mosh of flavor.

Backwoods Bastard (2020) Connolly

Bottle 4 share. Mon 2/15. 2020 version of a fave. Wee-Heavy's are one of my favorite styles. This nails all the good stuff! Dark fruit, oak, smoke, vanilla & caramel. Bourbon barrel is a plus. Better as it warms. Not boozy for an 11% ABV. Yum!

Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout (2017) Connolly

Sooooo good! Chocolate / vanilla / oak. Rich / thick / complex / delish!

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2020) Connolly

Still excellent, but no longer my all-time favorite. Thoroughly enjoyable, but the 2014/2015 version(s) were the top!

Read ingredients and said "Wow"! An imperial Cream Ale with ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, star anise, oats & vanilla. Tried it and said "TOO MUCH"! Shoulda stopped at Cream Ale. Medicinal tasting. I'll pass.

A rich, malty Wee Heavy Scotch Ale. I like saying Wee Heavy Scotch Ale. I'll say Wee Heavy Scotch Ale one more time. This Wee Heavy Scotch Ale is rich and smooth and malty and delish.
