120 Minute IPA 2024

More of a dare than anything. I thought it would be very barleywine, but it’s more typical West Coast pale ale in extreme concentrate*. Although I’m obvi not going to do it, this is probably what you get if you boiled Sierra Nevada PA down to 15.5% 🤷‍♂️

Grand Cru Bruocsella (2023)

I hardly ever credit these guys with offering an olfactory sensation, but this one is forward w cheese rind, top soil & dried oak-leaves on the nose. Surprisingly thin, yet quaffable & pleasantly dry with OG UK-style hops, dried Persian🍋& cave must.

Classic Gueuze

Credit where credit is due. Amazing, custard smooth, crème brûlée, deep, dark-honey-woody, without a sharp, puckering, acidic bone in its body. Tender. Graham crackers, rye bread, Persian🍋, French vanilla ice cream, containing multitudes. 4.625 🌟

Kriek 100% Lambic (2023)

Oh wait…Hi there. As I’m sipping this fresh 2023 edition, bottled in March, with a beautiful saturated expression of just picked, summer montmorency🍒, I keep forgetting it’s not Suarez (wow, it's🇧🇪?) & that we plebs really shouldn’t try to age beer. ⭐️

Rosé De Gambrinus (2022)

x2… you’re not seeing double. And just apropos of everything, first cans of Weltenberg Märzen I’ve ever seen in the US🍻🇺🇸🇩🇪

Rosé De Gambrinus (2022)

Fantastic red fruit sour with a drip of funky/musty/barnyard dank that’s just right & balanced. Aging Belgians is one weird trick; just drink ‘em crisp & fresh y’all. AND, oh yeaaa, happy 11th to, seriously, one of the country’s best bottle shops🍻🥳

Classic Gueuze (2022)

Just perfect!🌟Crisp & clean, lightly acidic & lemony… EXACTLY what I want out of a gueuze: fresh & flavorful, earth, vegetable garden,🍏& Belgian terroir. Pleasing, accessible, all before it turns & becomes stinky toe cheese + floor of the horse barn.

Oktoberfest

🥨This is kind of insultingly boring…and bizarrely boozy…and unnecessarily caramel candy sweet. I would imagine there was a period in German history when you could not get away with brewing an “Oktoberfestbier” like this and not leave as a torso🤷‍♂️

Rosé de Gambrinus (2019)

Thin, watery, red berry preserve + Robitussin cherry cough syrup forward. American Lambic-style producers have lapped these fake hypesters several times; and even Russian River’s little $6 “Funky Foeder“ has this expensive poodle on a leash. Please.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2019)

#FruityFriday Do people in Belgium really drink this stuff? I think it’s more like, “the Americans will pay $30 a bottle for Our cherry cough syrup vinegar from that leaky barrel we forgot in the horse stables over the past two years.” Sorry. Not sorry🤷‍

Classic Gueuze (2016)

Pure lemon juice swirling around freshly squeezed lime peel. Good heavy sour bite in the back of your throat; complex mix of barn funk, fermented grain, and dark spices. Easy to drink citrus concentrate.

Harvest Ale (2020)

WET HOP SHOWDOWN🥊2of2! now this is a total delight, maybe the only IPA I should drink! I think I hate dry hops. Light, fresh, sweet, long lingering hops in a pilsner barley malt frame. This is hop Tea! they linger&linger &get more herbal Rosemary thyme😋
