KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022) Owen
Flavors are on point but the overall beer is more thin and shallow (both in body and flavor) than the 2020 iteration was. Still great

Chocolate starting to fade but still holding up 2 years in! It’s starting to taste more like typical KBS now, bourbon influence increasing, sweet fudginess decreasing. Need to finish them all this winter I think

I’ve heard both this has way too much hazelnut and this hardly has any hazelnut. I think the balance is excellent. Hazelnut is primary but the bourbon and coffee are present throughout

I need to stop comparing this to 2020. It’s still really good but the year before was legendary

This has held up great. Glad I stashed a few! Chocolate a little less pronounced, bourbon barrel a bit more prominent

It’s been too long! What a shame this isn’t distro’d in Iowa anymore. Thanks Josh for the hookup!

Caramel apple, maple syrup, and bourbon toffee. On the sweet side but enough booziness to keep it from being cloying.

Big raspberry note but it’s very fresh and natural. Balanced well by slightly bitter dark chocolate and roasted malt notes. Overall a successful integration of fruit and stout. Excellent mouthfeel

Dry, roasty, coffee and cocoa, slightly earthy, quite complex actually, with a late malty sweetness and cascadian hop bite on the finish

Tasting at 50 degrees. Beautiful coffee shop/mocha aroma. Medium bodied frothy feel. Coffee-forward arrival, balanced by hot cocoa midpalate that darkens into dark chocolate brownie batter. Fresh ground coffee beans and a touch of bourbon on the finiSh

Underground Mountain Brown Owen
Great balance between dry earthy coffee and sweet notes on the aroma. Coffee-heavy arrival then the sweets take over mid palate into the finish which gets slightly sour. Excellent mouthfeel
