Had 3 really enjoyable pales at Mikkeller's original bar in Copenhagen this evening. First off the mark was this clean and crisp pale, with a good balance of bitterness and florals

Kriek Boon Aikman

Named in honour of the mighty David Boon, this was always going to be a banger. Big cherry boom bordering on the maraschino vibe, but not quite there. Thanks Penny for saving this all these years! (2017)

Kriek Mariage Parfait (2017) Aikman

One of the strongest krieks I've tried in terms of flavour. It's so rich and warms the mouth while also providing sweetness and refreshment. Another treat to drink.

Lizard of Koz Aikman

What a great beer! Anna's been keeping this for a long time, so the burn has vanished. Blueberries come through strong, smooth chocolate, a hint of aniseed.

Spontancarrot Aikman

This deserves more praise. The instant it hits your tongue it's a flavour explosion, then the carrot hits which is surprisingly nice. The colour is vibrant, line fanta. The beer behaves like a bubbling cauldron in the glass which is fun. Best carrot beer

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2018) Aikman

Boozey and threatening on the nose. Pours as thick as maple syrup spewing from a sap tap. Luckily for us, what we sniffed, was different to what we sipped. Beautiful sweet, vanilla, maple and chocolate

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio Aikman

The rich, bold acidic profile lingers for the correct amount of time and not so much it's still refreshing. I really like it. It's funky but doesn't knock your socks off and the cherry is genuine.
