Hazy-O! Monroe

Although the haze wasn’t so great, it was there. What impressed was the juiciness of the pineapple. II perfectly complimented dinner (salad w/ pineapple).

KBS Monroe

I cannot remember the last time I had one of these, but this beer is plainly the reason bourbon barrel beers are a thing; it is delicious! Restrained wood is there, and restrained coffee; strong chocolate and low whiskey alcohol flavor. F. I. N. E!

Crimson Cru Monroe

At first taste, I thought that it had a flavor with too much funky saddle leather; then, I disliked a distinct “stewed fruit” note; then, NOTHING BUT DELICIOUS.

Porter Monroe

This is a fine, fine beer, with dark chocolate and caramel up front, underlying earthy (and floral?) hops, and incredible head retention.

Framboise Boon Monroe

Sadly, I have neither Lindenan’s Framboise or a Boon Framboise glass. Nonetheless, this was a step toward its lambic roots.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Monroe

Had this one aging for quite a while, and while it is still a really inky black stout, the maple flavor came through heavily.

Campfire Amplifier Monroe

This was exactly what a sweet stout ought to be - tasting of lactose, but covered up with residual notes of cocoa and sweet cracker. A little bitter, though.

Campfire Amplifier Monroe

I had one bottle of a marvelous Graham cracker/chocolate/vanilla/cinnamon/Sweet Stout that I set aside to make brownies!

Where the Wild Hops Are Monroe

My last BJCP-judged beer before I judge on Friday. This was very muted, and the hops have that artificial, chalky Amarillo taste, but it was good.

Breakfast Stout Monroe

This is a tasty beer, always. The coffee tastes a little green, but still…so yummy! Silky mouthfeel.

Breakfast Stout Monroe

I really enjoyed the cinnamon and the chocolate and vanilla flavors were mild; very full, chewy mouthfeel, with a mild coffee flavor.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Monroe

I *can* taste the chocolate and fudge, with a hint of maple-like sweetness, but this has a lot of alcohol!
