French Toast Bastard 2023 Johnson

Rich, malty, and very decadent. Taking an already good Scotch Ale and adding maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla, it does taste like French Toast in a glass. Too sweet to drink a lot, but one is a perfect desert beer.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2017) Johnson

Working through my cellar again, this six year old KBS, still has excellent flavor. Chocolate in the nose, with coffee, chocolate, and Bourbon on the tongue. Kept dark and away from heat, good cellaring pays off.

All Day Crimson Sky Johnson

Malty and piney.

All Day IPA Johnson

Clean and crisp. Nice sessionable IPA. Nice hot weather quencher or watching Bison football 🏈.

Chocolate Cherry KBS Johnson

I have to admit, I wasn't sure about this one, but the cherries with the chocolate and coffee, blend well together. None of them overpower the others, you can still detect the Bourbon barrel aging.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa (2021) Johnson

The usual well done KBS mix of coffee and chocolate, withe the addition of cinnamon and vanilla. Cinnamon comes through strongly but not too overpowering, but the vanilla is hard to detect until it warms toward room temperature.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2018) Johnson

In the cellar, 3+ years. Blend of flavors is still strong with a swirl of chocolate, bourbon, and maple syrup. The coffee notes have faded. Tasty!

Velvet Rush Johnson

Coffee is a bit overpowering, but I also get notes chocolate and vanilla. Pretty sweet.

Grolsch Premium Lager Johnson

Excellent Pilsner. Nice hoppy aroma, slightly sweet, with a dry crisp finish. Haven't had one in years. This is excellent on this 95° day.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Johnson

Mostly coffee in the nose, then coffee and fudge dominate the flavor. Hints of Bourbon appear in the finish. Sweet, but surprisingly not overwhelmingly so. When swirled over the tongue, I get some of the original KBS base. Pleasant KBS variant.

KBS Espresso Johnson

Coffee is prevalent from start to finish, with the great KBS flavor behind it.
