Soft and subtle jammy profile with the barrel sneaking in on the back of the tongue. The beer has a great sweetness which some of the other KBS lack. They really delivered on a great blueberry stout this time around.

Wake Up World Wide Stout (2022) Capodagli
World Wide Stout comes full circle with a breakfast style variant. The coffee carries the load supported by a rich and sophisctaed roast profile. There is a lot going on here but it is still definitively WWS to the core. They rolled this one out perfect.

The beer is extra nutty this time and the featured ingredient shines in the spotlight. It is accompanied by the familiar heavy barrel and dark bourbon that Founder’s loves to bring with these releases. The result is a clean addition to the series.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Capodagli
Dogfish increased the distribution this year and I was lucky to find a few in Milwaukee. The beer is aged in the revered Utopias barrels from Sam Adams which impart heavy notes of cognac. The complex stout somehow becomes more complex.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa (2021) Capodagli
It is a soft stout but full of flavor. The ingredients blend very nicely together and is much more put together than the recent CBS releases and other KBS variants. I feel like Founder’s got back their stride with this one.

It hs been a while since I picked up some Dogfish. Campfire Amplifier is a thin, roasty stout with cocoa powder and graham crackers. You also get the burnt part of a roasted marshmallow, the outside. IG: @firesidewithphil

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Capodagli
KBS variants keep on popping up and I'm always going to give them a try. This one is with fudge flavored coffee and maple syrup. The result is a mocha forward stout with the soft bitter bite of oak. I'm putting this one above all other KBS and below CBS.

Beer Geek Breakfast from Mikkeller is like coffee in the morning. It is very roasty and really captures that breakfast vibe. There is enough sweetness to balance though, almost like adding some sugar to your coffee. Not too strong. IG: @firesidewithphil
