Xmas Wish Gluten Free McFarlane
2020 Mikkeller advent calendar, day 10: quite poor. Overly malty and bitter without much fresh hop flavour. The carb and body is quite nice though.

2020 Mikkeller advent calendar, day 9: another great beer. Creamy, juicy and a nice bit of bite for a New England style. Cheers!

Hallo Ich Bin Berliner Cherry Frederiksdal (2019) McFarlane
2020 Mikkeller advent calendar, day 6: decent beer. Nice sourness and cherry flavour, but it's missing a little in depth. Not bad.

Had this around a year ago, and I don't think this batch is quite as good. Not enough IPA taste for me, a little bit too much Riesling flavour. Still nice though.

SpontanCherry Frederiksdal (2020) McFarlane
2020 Mikkeller advent calendar, day 3: one of my favourite Mikkeller beers today! I've had his vintage 3 times now, and it's just great. Vinous, dry, a little funky and good level of sourness.

Santa's Hoppy Helpers McFarlane
Pleasantly surprised. Piney, hoppy, bitter and smooth drinking.

Really enjoyed this. Funky, fruity and dry. Not getting the vinous note that others have.

Japanese Rice Lager With Yuzu McFarlane
A pleasant surprise. Not usually into lagers with fruit added, but this maintains the real lager taste and the yuzu just makes the finish a little zesty. Balance done well!

Henry & Irma Vinter Hygge IPA McFarlane
Super malty and sweet. Not a lot here to bring me back, but not unpleasant.

Awesome NA beer. None of the not so nice flavours that sometimes come with NA. Tropical, full and sweet.

Really inoffensive so hard to dislike. Sweet, cherry-forward and slightly tart. However, not enough of my favourite lambic qualities to call it a great beer.

Lemony, light, refreshing and a surprisingly nice mouthfeel for a low abv. This new trend of Mikkeller brewing at To Øl city is awesome!

Funky, sour, dry, musty and a nice Oak flavour. Great balance between all these flavours. Pleasant carb too.

Oude Geuze Boon à l'Ancienne 2017-2018 McFarlane
Sweet, funky, tart, dry. A great lambic. At €1.75 I don't think you can get much better.

Extremely heavy and rich. Like chocolate sauce. Super thick. Nice bourbon flavour, but a little too strong.

Beer Geek Vanilla Shake (Whiskey Barrel Aged 2019) McFarlane
Great beer. Barrel character, vanilla, not too sweet, thick and roasty. Skål!

Spontandoubleblueberry McFarlane
Nicely balanced. Vinous, suuuper dry, a little sour and almost thick.

Spontancarrot (2016) McFarlane
Really interesting. Not sour at all, earthy, musty, cheesy and a little carrot. Great beer!

Great lambic. The keg was a little flat, but trying to put that aside it was peachy, funky, nicely soured, musty and zesty. Lovely!

Beer Geek Fudgesicle BA Bourbon McFarlane
The rye version definitely takes the cake. This one is a little too sickly and sweet. The rye in the other version balanced the sweetness excellently with some spice. Still a decent beer, but the balance isn't amazing.

SpontanCherry Frederiksdal (2020) McFarlane
Had this around 6 months ago on draft when it was pretty fresh. With even 6 months aging in bottle it's so much more rounded. Some of the acidity has gone leaving a more funky beer with a vinous backbone - excellent stuff!

Beer Geek Fudgesicle BA Rye Whiskey McFarlane
Loads of caramel and toffee, as expected. Good mouthfeel and a nice spiciness from the rye to balance it all. Great beer.

Oude Geuze Goût Américain McFarlane
Really underrated imo. When cool it is nicely acidic and then as it warms it becomes more funky and brett-y. Great beer which has developed well I think.

Really drinkable and fresh. However, not a lot going on here to keep me coming back. Not bad.

Celebrating IPA day with something less classic. I love Riesling grapes so this is right up my alley. Dry, citrusy, fruity and with a clean finish. Skål!

Really tasty. Nice cherry flavour balanced by sourness with cinnamon undertones.
