Almost a tea-like nose. A gently sour and funky. But gorgeous. Yet I am drinking this to cleanse my tongue.

Punkin Ale (2023) Huth

Okay, pumpkin spice beers are usually terrible, so it’s not remarkable this one is—this one brewed with a brown ale the color of an unyellow lager. Nothing to recommend here.

Oude Geuze A L’Ancienne VAT 108bis Mono Blend Huth

A nice cloudy orange-tan liquor. A beautiful gentle funky sourness.

60 Minute IPA Huth

Hey, I’ve had a lot more beers since last I had this one. Note a bad WCIPA, and very true to style.

Chenin Blanc Huth

A sour yet also a sweet yeasty nose. Dry and complex with bitterness, yeasty notes and some vinous qualities.

Classic Gueuze (2022) Huth

Funky and sour yet quite gentle.

Fruit-Full Fort Huth

Hmm, 18%, but you don’t tell us this on the bottle. Quite a bit fallen, but the fruit holds up. Not so good but maybe a beer lost in the Meadosian morass.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2021) Huth

The nose is unremarkable. But the tongue is unremitting beauty: Harvey tart raspberries for funky sour days. Great vintage, or maltage, as I say.

90 Minute Imperial IPA Huth

The usual.

Fou’ Foune (2021) Huth

Apricot everywhere. Apricot transmogrified by brewing but still persisting. A relatively gentle sours Esa and a fine jammy apricot tongue.

This beer is wearing off me with time. A malty sweet nose, huge on both accounts. The tongue brings on the assault of sweetness, overweening malts, and rough rough bitterness. More an out of control US barleywine than and IPA. But having it at the movies.

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) Huth

I haven’t enjoyed this year’s vintage. It is rough with coffee and roast, without much else to recommend it. A nice with of barrel on the nose and on the opening of the tongue. A little weight to it, which is good. A little sweetness. Then rough bitter.

Limbo Yuzu Huth

Quite a lot of tasty yuzu, which I like, but not much beerlike.

Still so fine with all this softening age on it.

Quite delicious, not at all long in the tooth. Likely better after these years awaiting. Pours dark with a creamy tan head. Roast and maple on the nose. Roast is first on the tongue before roasts and sweet maple asserts itself before the booze reasserts.

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) Huth

Interesting to evaluate this and see how rough it is. The barrel-aging leads to bitter artifacts in the beer and no improvements to the bases. Chocolate is unavailable on the tongue. The end result is rough bitterness lacking in grace.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020) Huth

A big rough boozy beer with lots of pinchy roasts and chocolatiness.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2017) Huth

Still boozy after all these years. Dark boozy roasty nose. Lots of roast on the on the tongue with a boozy burn and the hint of maple among the generic sweetness. Not fallen at all. This may have, instead, risen over the last four years. It seems to me.

Spontanblueberry Huth

Pours burgundy with a tall lavender head. Nose is blueberry, sour, and very (and roughly) funky. Here at jammy blueberry on the tongue, along with rough Brettlike funk followed by a huge bitterness. And woody. Not at all the sour quality of other Spontans

Oude Geuze White Vermouth Foeders Huth

Beautiful woody golden liquor. Great stinky funky nose on this gueuze. Lots of good wood on this. And I can almost believe I taste a little swish of something that is a remnant of white vermouth. Almost.
