Double Dip BA 2023 Heath

Pours an oily black with no head. Bourbon dominate on the nose with some nuttiness and chocolate malts. Bourbon on tasting too, hazelnut, black treacle, dark chocolate with some rye spice on the finish. Well balanced. Sticky body and boozy. Very good.

Faro Boon Heath

Pours a murky golden brown with a brief fizzy head. Bit of yeasty farmyard funk on the nose. Slight sourness on tasting, before apple, loads of sugar and maybe hints of vanilla and oak. Very light and refreshing. Good example of style if on the sweet side

Centennial IPA Heath

Pours a clearish dark gold with a big frothy head. Loads of florals on the nose. Florals dominate on tasting too, before some grapefruit, hoppy citrus zest and a malty aftertaste. Light and very drinkable for the ABV. Nicely balanced sessionable IPA.

Hello Pigeon! Heath

Pours a rich hazy gold with a brief head. Sweet citrus aroma with a slight dankness. Taste follows the nose, sweet up front, with some grapefruit and tropical fruit and a dank finish. Medium bodied for style. Boozy. OK but lacks a bit of balance for me.

Kriek Mariage Parfait Heath

Pours a rich ruby red with a brief fizzy head. Aroma of oak, white wine and some yeasty funk. Tartness typical of the style up front, followed by rich, ripe cherry and a dry finish. Medium bodied with a decent level of carbonation. Decent fruited lambic.

Geuze Mariage Parfait Heath

Pours a cloudyish, effervescent, gold with a persistent fizzy head. Loads of oak on the nose with tart vinous notes. Complex flavour. Tart fruitiness, then white wine and oak, vanilla and a dry, bitterish, even tangy finish. Bit too fizzy. Very good geuze

Trading Places Heath

Pours a slightly hazy light orange with a bit of head. Good aroma of peach and passion fruit. Taste of peach and apricot with a bitter citrus finish. Quite thin for the ABV but works OK with the fairly subtle flavours and quite refreshing. Pretty good.

Curmudgeon's Better Half Heath

Pours a nice deep mahogany. Aromas of toffee, malt and dark fruits. A sweet syrupy palate with plenty of malt but the bourbon gives it a bit of balance. Medium bodied. Quite a bit of carbonation for the style. Overall pretty good.

Oude Geuze Boon Heath

Amber colour with white fizzy head. Grape and apple aroma. Wine like flavour with little to no sweetness. Slightly woody with a subtle bitter finish. Very dry even for the style with a decent level of carbonation. Nice gueuze.
