Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek Boon (2018) W.
Deep burgundy and barely translucent with medium, muted pink head. Every type of cherry presented in the nose: candied, dried, fresh, underripe, and juiced, all with an underlying wild yeast character. Drying and lactic, with smooth, juicy acidity.

Ruby-tinted copper and clear, with barely a white head. Nose is perfumey raspberry, with grainy whole wheat: jam on toast. Restrained and dry as the kriek, with yoghurt-like lactic acidity (and fruit on the bottom). Green bell pepper. Low CO2.

Kriek Mariage Parfait (2015) W.
Pale burgundy and nearly opaque with a whisper of thin, white head. Nose is marasco cherries in syrup. Dry and earthy, with low and subtle acidity. Closer to a low-CO2 gueuze, with the cherries adding a mild and textural backdrop of fresh fruit flesh.

Deep golden straw with low, dissipating white head. Some barnyard on nose, lemon pith. Spritzy and fantastically refreshing, with med low acidity and low salinity. Like good cava that sat with aged hops and kumquats. Pair with rich, aromatic cheese.

Yellow straw with persistent tiny bubbles and med clarity. Nose: sweet tarts and low pear, low limestone. Smoother and less acidic than the other Boon, with some grainy wheat malt peeking through. Hint of restrained sweetness before low bitter settles in.
