Bit of lemon citrus at first in the aroma, followed by honey and bread. Tastes a bit corny… lo and behold I actually read the can and they used polenta. Hops lend a citrusy and bright profile without much bitterness. Clean and dry overall.

Two month old bottle: 09.13.23. Less sweet and a bit more coffee forward than I noted in the past. Prominent oak note with some booze.

Light, crushable, and flavorful enough. Very low bitterness, though being bone dry amplifies what’s there. Wheat cracker, light lemongrass notes.

Wake Up World Wide Stout Ogonowski
Tons of black coffee and boozy dark fruit on the nose. Also hints of cinnamon and maple. Lots of sugary coffee/mocha on the palate. Boozy on the finish.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Ogonowski
Straight up cocoa bomb on the nose. Cocoa powder, dark chocolate brownie, mocha blend on the palate. Oaky vanilla and some booze manifest toward the finish. Bittersweet, far from cloying even after warming up. Smooth feel, could be more viscous.

Strong coffee note on the nose (bit of baking chocolate too). Momentary sweetness is damped by roasted malt and coffee astringency. Finish is fairly dry and bitter, esp. for a BA stout. Bit of a fuel note. All the coffee hides most of the barrel notes.

Aroma has notes of mocha/vanilla/bourbon that are nicely blended together. Bittersweet dark chocolate and coffee hit the palate first, then oaky vanilla and booze.

Cocoa and marshmallow notes are strong on the nose. A bit of a boozy note too. Very sweet on the palate with a syrupy texture. Lots of dark chocolate and vanilla, the latter tasting somewhat artificial.
