Lively pleasant hoppy hazy session IPA, anchored by oats & wheat. The Homebrewer's golden ratio of malts to bittering: ABV × 10 = IBU. Well managed, Founders.

Okay so first, it is 18% ABV. We checked if this is a record for us, & found that we once checked in a 20% barleywine that (not surprisingly) we hadn't remembered. This:Melted chocolate, fig syrup, pervasive port barrel notes. Elegantly fine achievement.

Amazingly, I've never checked in this classic; guess I originally tasted it before Untappd was a thing. In the airport it costs 2x what I'm used to paying for a 16oz pour. But having started travel @4 a.m. today, I like it just fine: Crisp, hoppy, clean.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Jossem
Maple fudge bourbon coffee stout that in an agile, graceful manner carries its substantial 11% ABV across a silky smooth finish line.

Okay so this is a huge fluffy pillow of nitro foam, and then you slide under a sweet ruby-red quilt of raspberry preserves, filling your night with linzertorte dreams.

Puts the ooh in Umami, unfortunately, because this one was canned 5/4/21 and age has not been kind. I suspect when fresh it's a step up from ❤ 🤍 'd.

Crisply carbonated, good dry-hopping, juicy yet dank. Creamy texture as well. Little nip of lactose? But no diacetyl off-flavors. Might be worth a road trip to find on tap.
