Dark roasted malt with a slight hint of chocolate is well balanced with the pune and citrus of the hops... just right level of bitterness. I love a good black IPA so hoping Founders might inspire others to release more of this style...

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2018) Spencer
I was worried it might be diminished by time... as I remember, the coffee may have been a little more pronounced when fresh, but still present... balanced mix of all the expected flavor... chocolate, coffee, syrup and barrel... sad this is my last one!

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) Spencer
With the variants it's easy to overlook the original... chocolate, coffee, hints of bourbon and vanilla... dark and thick... such a good stout! I'm Guessing a year in the bottle may have helped...

Not sure what I expected, but this isn't it! Sweet mango flavor with a hint of heat from habenero... quite tasty.

Great hop forward IPA... wish I could try any one of the four beers this was based upon... balanced yet bitter... pine on the nose with some floral and citrus hops... head fades quickly but laces all day...
