Sang Bleu (2022)

Low tums factor here. There’s acidity, stank, and sourness no doubt, but fairly bright and tart. Sip slow…very slow indeed. 4.25++

Centennial IPA

Motherflippin proper left coaster. It’s been way too long. I remember the glory days when the lcbo carried this. Big caramel malt backbone that is absolutely pummelled to death by bracingly bitter enamel shredding old school goodness. Classic.

#DIPA

To its credit, is much less brown than pic suggests and is more a burnt orange. To its detriment, is as sweet and malty as pic suggests. Tie? A sweet muddled mess.

Gateway

Nightcap, assisted by flash photography. Bright citrus + earthy undertones. Dank and plush. Weird nose and a bit muddled finish but a nice sipper no less. Hard 4.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa (2021)

Wow. Really weird but interesting and ultimately fun. Equal parts delicious and gross. Big cinnamon on the nose. Deep cocoa on the sip, but verges on suntan oil coconut. Nilla leads the race to the finish line, but facking cinnamon takes it by a nose.

KBS Espresso (2020)

A day late but a happy belated to the mighty Kirby D. ! Seemed appropriate to pop this liquid bottle of “no sleep for you!” Deep + roasty espresso vibes that feels like Salt Bae was wasted, grabbed the sugar vs the salt, and elbow dropped in this glass.

Porter

That shelfie lyfe. A gentle closer to a couple hedonistic weeks. More bitterness and gentle hops than expected vs smokiness but damn tasty and comforting no less. Make Shelfies Great Again!

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020)

It’s that big chunk….of fuuuudge! Really nice balance between bitter and boozy and ashy and sweet. Not taxingly thic but plenty of body cradling the flavours throughout. Big thanks to the mighty Kirby D. for the insomnia! Soft 4.5.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2018)

Celebrating Zwanze with this LCBO shelfie. The difference between the fresh pour and 10 minutes later is astounding. Delicate, zippy, tart, touch of sweetness once it opens. Lovely. 4.25++
