My first beer from this brewery. A very nice Porter, although a bit on the thick side. They added licorice and I think that it was probably a sweet licorice and not just raw licorice. Personally I would love to taste a version without the added licorice.

Often when I drink these wild ales I feel like I’m drinking part of someone’s farm. This ale has that out-of-farm experience in spades. To be honest, I’m not sure how much I like it, but I certainly find it very interesting.

Recipe 1000 Chardonnay H.

This was a difficult beer to evaluate. It is an old beer, that may be past it’s prime, but it has an interesting nutty flavor that grows on you.

Black (2019) H.

Enjoying a very stout stout (15%) with spaghetti/pesto/Parmesan (vegan). Both are delicious. The stout is pretty boozy but has a bit of sweetness to take the edge off. Definitely more of an after-dinner stout.

A juicy and hazy IPA with a nice balance between hoppy bitterness and tropical fruit notes.

A great pale ale at a good price, from the local grocery store.

The cat likes his strong stouts, as do I. A dark delicious sweet and boozy beer with a thick body and a rich dark foam on which you could float a fork.

A gluten-free APA that’s always great. Very refreshing with a good dose of hops and notes of citrus.

Marvelroast (2020) H.

Advent calendar beer # 23. A strong ale from Founders brewed in The US. Very sweet with lots of added vanilla, cacao, and coffee. A little to sweet for me, but still very enjoyable.

A spiced Belgian ale, nice body, a little sweet, but pretty good.

A very mellow IPA. Maybe a bit too mellow, but very nice flavor with citrus and banana notes.
