French Toast Bastard Mowder

Backwoods Bastard is one of my very favorite beers ever. French Toast Bastard ... was not. Tastes like drinking maple syrup French toast, so success there I guess. Not for me.

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Mowder

Sweeter and thinner than a brown ale, this sips more like a Belgian Dubbel or quad. Excellent flavor, not too sweet, and only subtle hints of cherry. Its not a Manhattan in a bottle, but it's good.

Velvet Rush Mowder

Coffee notes really pull this together and prevent it being too sweet. Among Founder's imperial brown ales I personally prefer Underground Mountain Brown, but this is a great alternative that runs sweeter and more velvety.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Mowder

Strong, sweet and syrupy without being overpowering in any of them. I don't get a strong maple flavor but the fudge and coffee come through well. A solid, if sweeter, alternative to regular KBS.

KBS Mowder

A powerful stout, tremendous chocolate and coffee flavor, slightly sweet and a little smoky. This is one terrific beer.

Curmudgeon's Better Half Mowder

A smooth ale but a bit too syrupy sweet for me. (Logical sense it's brewed with molasses and aged in maple syrup barrels.) Has a little bite of bitterness on the end but it's not enough to cut the warm sugaryness.

Marvelroast Mowder

Pours light and golden. The coffee flavor is sweet, not strong, and it has a creaminess that reminds me of a cream soda (but coffee flavored). Ultimately it goes a little too sweet for me, particularly if I'm wanting a coffee style stout.
