As expected from the nose the taste of sour apples, grapes & fermenting hay fills my mouth w/ a brisk tartness that produces layers of salivation after each swallow. The sourness abates over time and a delicious balance emerges. Excellent beer! #bb #wbg

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio
Vinous, yeasty, oaky & tannic, like a white wine with carbonation removed. But there's a thin, watery, chalky quality late in the piece that has me scrunching my face after each swallow & the lack of carb does nothing to hide that effect. #1001 #waob #wbg

Big chocolate & coffee notes. Vanilla & barrel comes out as it warms. Booze is noticeable but pleasant. Residual stickiness after the swallow. Very dangerous for a 12% beer. Delicious. Thanks Steven W.- I've been hanging out for this one!

An excellent beer! It hides its 8.5% ABV really well, and belongs firmly in that Belgian category of strong beers that trick you into thinking otherwise. I want another one, but I'm not going to do that to myself just now! Thanks Steven W. #1001beers #wbg

Nelson Sauvignon / Sauvin Brut
Pours a muddy, washing-water-brown colour, but that uninspiring start hides a tart, funky, grape-skin-laden, wet hay, complex, tasty beer. Nose has tart peach notes. Mouthfeel is mild. Nice beer marked down b/c it looks like shit. #completebeercourse

A big, big beer awesomely done. Malt and alcohol on the nose. Strong, bitter, malty and sweet flavour that wears its alcohol like a well made suit. Excellent beer! Thanks yet again Steven W.!

This one was a little muted with caramel and marmalade malts overwhelming any hop presence. Still enjoyable! Thanks Steven W. for the beer! #greatbeersbook #beerbible #completebeercourse
