Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS)

Glad I had a chance to try the re-release. Not really getting any maple though, and the coffee mostly seems to come through as bitterness, which isn't quite what I was hoping for. Still a good BA stout, but I suspect it has been eclipsed by others by now.

Breakfast Stout

Not sure if there was something in my cup, but this turned out very bitter for me, even compared to other coffee stouts. An okay flavor besides that, though.

KBS Blueberry

I only had a taster of this, but that was enough. I enjoy KBS and its derivatives, but I didn't feel there was much blueberry flavor here. A bit of sweetness, but nothing that special: I'd stick to the original or other variants.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa

I enjoy the KBS series in general, and this one adds a bit of spice to the mix. It's good, but not my favorite. A bit of cocoa on the nose, not much in the flavor. Cinnamon and vanilla are evident, as is the coffee stout KBS base. Well-mixed, too.

French Toast Bastard

There's a lot going on here. Strong maple flavor, a good mix of cinnamon, vanilla, and sweetness that definitely evokes french toast. I wasn't sure about a barrel aged scotch ale, but this is definitely a solid beer, and (pleasantly) lighter than a stout.

KBS Hazelnut (2022)

Fairly hazelnutty. Perhaps not my favorite KBS version, but a fairly reasonable one.

Nitro Rübæus

A solid fruit beer. The nitro makes it smoother than the regular, of course, but it's one of the standbys I'll order on a regular basis.
