I’m a big fan of both Gamma and Flying Couch, but I’m not a big fan of Black IPAs - this is not too bad though.

Another fruity and tropical IPA (this time a DIPA). ‘Multitudes’ by Alefarm nailed the fruity tropical notes a bit better, but this is still a great beer.

Malty, sweet, piney, resinous; all in all a really good “Christmas IPA” - even when enjoyed in the Spring ☀️

A little disappointed by this beer - it’s a bit thin, but not bad.

Kihoskh advent calendar #19 Another beer I have tasted before (some 8 months ago) where I gave it 2.25. I don’t know why I rated it so low back then, as I like it now. It’s not juicy or really hoppy as so many other IPAs but more floral and understated.

Kihoskh advent calendar #10 I tried this in last years To Øl calendar. Last time I gave it a 2/5 rating, but my taste has evolved. Stouts are still not my favorite type, but I have come to appreciate their uniqueness. Dark, sweet, and roasty as hell

Kihoskh advent calendar #8 Delicious maltiness, roasty and not too sweet (more dry). Rich taste with hints of chocolate, caramel and nuts. This is one of my favorites this far. Bad Seed also always has some awesome artwork on their cans.

Kihoskh advent calendar #6 A hazy and thirst quenching West Coast IPA. Good balance between hoppy bitterness and sweet fruitiness. Slightly ‘woody’ aroma.

Kihoskh advent calendar #1 I already tried this in my advent calendar from To Øl last year - but here it is again.

I’m a sucker for a good pun, so I had to get this. It’s definitely more ‘spiced’ and less sweet than the common Weissbier; the clove is front and center here, and that’s fine by me. It has a slight bitter tinge.

An interesting Kölsch. A bit piney, slightly bitter, a bit funky.

Just the One HBC586 Vinterberg
This series focuses on a single hop: HBC586 (I have never heard about this before). This is like no hop I have tried. It reminds me of lemon drops (candy), but it also has a sort of dank taste. A very interesting IPA

Just the One - Amarillo Vinterberg
I have tried one of these ‘one hop’ concept beers before, they’re great. This one is hoppy, but still has a fruity sweetness.

I'm Dreaming of A Kveik Christmas Vinterberg
Christmas surprise #27 out of ? A really great double dry hopped IPA. It’s hoppy, citrusy, crisp and refreshing. It’s fruity, with primarily citrusy notes. The added oats makes it creamy. All in all a really great IPA. Fanø Bryghus is goated.

Frederiksdal Oude Kriek Foeder Finish Vinterberg
Mikkeller advent calendar #24 I’m early, but Christmas and New Year is my exam period, so I want to get this out of the way - please pray for me. Sours is one of my favorite styles, especially Krieks, and this is one of the best I’ve had. God jul!!!
To Øl advent calendar #24 The coffee is noticeable, but takes a backseat to the creamy and sweet maltiness. This is the first beer with chocolate, where I can actually kinda taste the chocolate. It’s also quite boozy, so watch out. God Jul!

Münich Münich Lager Vinterberg
Mikkeller advent calendar #21 A ‘Helles’ (or Munich Lager) from the Danish Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri. A little bit more bitter than a normal Helles, not by much. A very different colour though, much more amber than the normal Helles. Not that exiting honestly

House of the Dragon Vinterberg
Mikkeller advent calendar #21 A Stout spiced with chili peppers. I love spicy food, but putting it in beer has never been my thing. The chili peppers are noticeable, but they are not scorching. I can’t get the sweet notes others are talking about.

Santa’s Hoppy Helpers (2022) Vinterberg
Mikkeller advent calendar #19 West Coast IPA with dominating piney notes and a more low profile bitterness. I love this IPA; if you could ever call an IPA ‘christmassy’ it would be this one. And as always I love the artwork on the can.
To Øl advent calendar #19 A low-key hoppiness and a hint of citrus. Not much more to add. I don’t know if my expectations have been screwed by all the very hoppy IPA’s, DIPA’s and what not, but this doesn’t taste like much to me. Not bad, not exactly bad.

Mikkeller advent calendar #18 Yet another Imperial Stout. This one is not as strong and roasty as the others, it’s very smooth and a bit sweet, reminds me of licorice.

Stereo Mono: Mosaic Vinterberg
To Øl advent calendar #17 A very classic fruity and hoppy IPA. Yawn, give me something new, please. This beer is one of the better IPA’s, but still not something to write home about. So many IPA’s in this advent calendar, please give me something new.

Mikkeller advent calendar #15 Not the best Witbier I have tasted, a little bland, very surprising coming from Mikkeller. I know this is a weird side note, but the foam is amazing on this beer; white like the snowy fields of the North.

Santa Gose F&#% It All Vinterberg
To Øl advent calendar #14 A Pastry Sour with tropical fruits (Passionfruit, guava and mango). I absolutely love this; it’s the perfect balance between sweetness and sourness. I want to say f*ck it and go on holiday and just drink this beer all day long.

Holiday Ale From To (Til Fra via Mikkeller) Vinterberg
Mikkeller advent calendar #13 Imperial Porter ‘Holiday Ale’ spiced. I’m not a big fan of porters, but this is alright. Probably the most spiced Christmas Ale I have ever tasted, maybe a little to spiced for me. There is no coffee in this, but it’s roasty
over 2 years ago
To Øl advent calendar #13 It might just be the coffee stout messing up my tastebuds, but this doesn’t taste like much. Low bitterness and a hint of citrus. Definitely not thin or watery, but I can’t quite place the taste of this ‘Misty’ Pale Ale.

Mikkeller advent calendar #11 This is probably the most christmassy beer yet; dark, malty and intensely spiced.

To Øl advent calendar #10 A Brown Ale with coffee. I think this kind of beers are growing on me; before I would probably have poured this out, but this is good.

Whirl Champions 2022 Vinterberg
To Øl advent calendar #9 Triple IPA (I didn’t even know they went that high). A big collaboration between a lot of breweries made this monster of an IPA; strong (boozy) and hoppy, but with a fruity sweetness. This is my shit!

Mikkeller XMAS Vienna Lager Classic Vinterberg
Mikkeller advent calendar #9 A new take on their ‘Iskold Classic’ - Christmas themed! While this is a good beer, I like the original better. I can taste the malt and the spice, but it’s no ‘popping’ - maybe my tastebuds are ruined after the triple IPA.
Mikkeller advent calendar #7 I think I would have loved this beer, were it not for the coffee. I’m not the guy for beers with coffee, but this is bearable - or maybe coffee-beers are growing on me. I would rather drink this than some tasteless crap.

Resin From the Dead Vinterberg
To Øl advent calendar #6 Yet another West Coast IPA. I like this one a lot more than the previous WCIPA; it’s more rounded (the other had quite a sharp bitterness), it’s fruitier and it’s a bit sweet - all this while still being hoppy like a IPA should be

Natholdet’s Christmas Calendar - 20. of December Nightcap from Åben As stated many times before, I don’t really like stouts all that much. However, this is one of the better ones as it’s soft and creamy, but still a bit too heavy and thick for me.
It’s a session-type so it’s lighter and has a lower ABV than most other IPA’s, but it still has a tinge of hoppy bitterness we all know from IPA’s. It’s very drinkable and good for newcomers, but maybe it lacks a bit for a ‘beer veteran’.

Natholdet’s Christmas Calendar - 14. of December Julebryg fra Fanø Brewery A little to much like a porter for me and I personally don’t really like coffee in my beer. But I really like the aroma.

Natholdet’s Christmas Calendar - 12. of December This is like a normal lager, just with an extra kick of goodness; more pronounced bitterness and a higher alcohol strength. One of the best lagers I have tasted and one of the best beers in this calendar

Natholdets Christmas Calendar - 5. of December Big Doink from Gamma Brewing A beautiful balance between bitterness and sweetness. Full of aromatic hops that gives a floral bitterness. My favorite thus far.

Fruity and refreshing but much hoppier than Tropical Rumble

Can’t really taste the hops or the fruitiness, it just roasty and bitter - not really my cup of tea.

American Dream Extra Dry-Hopped Vinterberg
An India Pale Lager from Mikkeller. It’s more malty than I expected, but still has an amazing hoppy finish - it has a great balance between hoppiness and maltiness.

IPA made in collaboration between Mikkeller and the supermarket chain Irma. The main taste notes are tropical fruits and citrus, but it also got a hint of pine.

Game of Thrones - Iron Anniversary IPA Vinterberg
A beer made in collaboration between HBO and Mikkeller to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of GoT. It is very hoppy and has amazing notes of tropical fruits.

A Brown Ale named after the Quentin Tarantino movie of the same name. It has a taste of roasted coffee with a hint of some licorice. I don’t really enjoy Brown Ales, but this is actually one of the better ones.

An American style IPA; it’s has citrusy taste with a refreshingly bitter grapefruit finish.

A Belgian Witbier. It has a classic witbier taste and is a little bit citrusy. It is okay, but maybe a little bit too watery.

Doublebock Frederiksdal Cherries Vinterberg
A Doppelbock with Frederiksdal cherries. In the beginning it has quite a strong taste malt and alcohol, but also a clear aftertaste of juicy cherries.

Session IPA on a relaxed 3.5%. It’s very light and has a nice citrusy taste - this beer is great after a night out.

Hallo Ich Bin Berliner Weisse Frederiksdal Cherry Vinterberg
Berliner Weisse with Danish Frederiksdal cherries. The refreshing taste of sour cherries explodes in your mouth, with a beautiful tart/acidic finish - one of the best beers I have ever tasted!

SpontanCherry Frederiksdal (2020) Vinterberg
Spontan Cherry from Mikkeller made with cherries from the Frederiksdal plantation. It’s much better than the ‘Kriek Vanilje’ I tasted earlier this year; it’s less bitter, a bit sweeter, and tastes more of cherry - a superb kriek lambic!

A delicious beer matured in champagne barrels.

A beer with a beautiful hue of dark amber and an aroma of burned caramel. This beer boasts an very malty taste profile; it’s malty and sweet, an absolute favorite combination of mine.

Berliner Weisse with raspberry. Nice fruity flavor with a refreshing sourness - It could use a little sweetness to balance out the sourness a bit, Lindemanns Framboise is a good example of a good balance between sour and sweet.

Owls In the Marshes / Ugler I Mosen Vinterberg
A gluten free pale ale from Mikkeller made in collaboration with Irma. This beer is very dry and quite bitter, but with a pleasant note of citrus - It could use some juicy sweetness, as it would play nicely with the dry- and bitterness.
