Crimson Cru

Took a sip and wondered “what the fuck is this supposed to be?” Read the notes from the brewery & it sounds like an impressive collaboration between some big players but... good story… skanky mess. This is horrible.

Oktoberfest

2nd just-ok fest beer in a row. Abundance breeds pickiness. Caramel/toffee, maple water & Shreddies.

Raglan Stout

Solid. Nice and dry, dusty cocoa and a nice use of nitro to cut the bitterness. Pretty decent Shepherds pie here.

Punkin Ale (2022)

Cinnamon & nutmeg. A bit creamy. Really nice malts.

Geuze Boon Sélection

Gorgeous. Tart, dry, a hint of balsamic, a little bit of sea salt… just so Euro.

Beer Geek Cocoa Shake

Chocolaty dangerousness. Syrupy good.

Más Agave Grapefruit

Ummm. Hmm. Syrupy, intense, super sweet & completely unbalanced. I get all the flavours but it’s really hard to wrap your pallet around. A barley wine that needed to be barrelled longer(& without grapefruit) or a fruited gose that should be 4% lighter.

Kriek Boon (2021)

Yum. Cherry in both sweet & tart forms without going over-the-too with either. Woody dryness, a hint of barnyard funk & a spoonful of cough syrup (strangely, a good thing here). One of those old world reminders of what a style is supposed to taste like.

Fresh Start

Love me a syrupy IPA. Surprising amount of west coast hops (pine) for a NEIPA. Nectarines, clementines & (most importantly) Peaches and Cream Quaker Instant Oatmeal.
