French Toast Bastard Duncan

The maple and cinnamon take over and become annoying. Sounds like it ought to be great, but it doesn't work for me, just seems harshly sweet.

Ultimate Oktoberfest Duncan

Good for the bourbon flavor but rather weak on malt or anything else to balance it out. Still fine for this BBA brew lover, but Backwoods is better.

Velvet Rush Duncan

More like a lightweight coffee porter, low on barrel aging notes. Much prefer their Mountain Brown.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) Duncan

Does not seem as rich and supple as I remember when it was in expensive bombers, but still a superior brew at half the old price per ounce.

Panther Cub Duncan

A maply, relatively easy drinking CBS Light.

90 Minute Imperial IPA Duncan

Quite potent at 9%, especially in 16 ounce cans.

Centennial IPA Duncan

More flavor and substance than the apparently more popular All Day IPA.

Underground Mountain Brown Duncan

Flavors seem more stoutish than brown but the stout and bourbon notes eventually dominate in a very pleasing way. Not as outstanding as Backwoods, but then for me a good scotch ale is the preferred base for any nicely aged BBA.

DKML Duncan

A standby nightcap which unfortunately I understand will no longer be brewed. Unusual base for a BA brew, but it works pretty well, just not enough to cover all the alcohol blast. Flavorful and powerful.

4 Giants IPA Duncan

A tasty DIPA with highish ABV well covered. Stangely reminiscent of Lagunitas' now withdrawn Undercover Investigation Shutdown ale, with an almost identical color and ABV, but about 20% more expensive.

Black Rye (2014) Duncan

This was a great find at Kelly's in Dalton Mass. in June 2020! Could be the aging helped like many dark malted brews, and muted the hops. Excellent; balanced, smooth and substantial, easy drinking.
