Light-moderate tart citrus and hints of cheesy funk on the nose. Moderate tart citrus up front. Citrus peel and grapefruit in the finish mixed with some musty/cheesy/earthy/woody funk in the finish. Moderate-lively carbonation.

Dark chocolate, light espresso, and faint bourbon nose. Dark chocolate starts up front. It blends nicely with the espresso, faint vanilla, and bourbon in the finish. Definitely the best variant I've had since the regular Espresso variant.

2022 - Citrus, grapefruit, and some mild sweaty/footy funk on the nose. Citrus and light apple up front. Grapefruit, orange peel, and light musty/sweaty funk in the finish.

23 DECEMBER 2021-Very vinuos on the nose with some light musty funk and just a touch of barnyard. Lots of grape up front...starts slightly sweet but turns more tart in the finish. Tart grape mixes with lemon, red wine, grape skins, and oak in the finish.

14 MARCH 2020 (pretty sure on the month...guessing on the day) - Super jammy on the nose, but not so much in the flavor. Rather sour with some acidity. Significantly drier with more oak than any RdG I've ever had. No jammy notes in the flavor at all.

Lots of citrus and cheesy funk. Flavor is slowly improving and the explosive cork remains unrivaled.

17 AUGUST 20222 - Wanted to drink this before acidity really settled in like the 2021 bottle I had a few months ago. It's starting to creep in, so I'm glad I'm drinking this now instead of sitting on it.

27 JUNE 2022 - There's always bottle variation, but this one has more sweet apple character than the average bottle.

Still a good amount of coffee. More smoke than spice for me. I don't get much barrel.

Really nice citrus, lemon, and light grapefruit combination with some light yogurt funk and oak in the finish. I can't say I really notice any Calvados notes.
Big tart peach on the aroma with a hint of barnyard. Lots of tart peach in the flavor with a good dose of acidic lemon. Still great, but I bet this was better 6-12 months ago. I like tart with a touch of acidity. This is a little too much acidty.
Big musty apple with light citrus and minerls on the nose. Musty apple up front with lemon and a touch of lemon peel in the middle. Musty/earthy/corky funk with some minerality in the finish.

SEPTEMBER 2019 (I think it's September...I can't make out the day) - Moderate sour apple and light citrus up front. Light-moderate lemon and light yogurt-like funk in the finish.
26 NOVEMBER 2020 - Hasn't changed much in the 2+ years since I last had it. Mild barnyard in the aroma is now present. Less sweet grape and more musty/dusty funky grape in the flavor.

Can't believe I haven't had this in almost five years.

Caramel, brown sugar, &mildly fruity nose. Caramel & brown sugar up front. Mild fruitiness in the middle. Light vanilla, some mildly tart citrus, & some noticeable booziness in the finish.

21 JUNE 2021 - Awesome aroma of musty rhubarb, lemon, faint barnyard funk, and oak. Lots of citrus ,rhubarb, and sour apples up front. Moderate-heavy sour/tart lemon (lightly acidic) with some mild barnyard , faint minerals, and oak in the finish.

One month later this has gone full blown Lizard of Koz...which is absolutely not a beer for me...just way too sweet.
Lots of caramel/toffee and maple syrup up front. Moderate nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon in the finish. Solid, but the maple syrup barrel probably added more sweetness than I prefer.

14 DECEMBER 2020 - Still good, but the acidity is pretty intense in this bottle. Jammy raspberry is all but gone. Without question my lowest rated bottle of RdG.

Cirus, apple, lemon, musty basement, and light cheesy funk on the nose. Light-moderate tart citrus up front and light apple. Light lemon, musty oak, and cheesy funk in the finish.

23 FEBRUARY 2021 - Light citrus, apple skins, musty cherry, yeast, & faint oak in the aroma. Starts w/light citrus & faint apple. Light lemon, cherry, yeast, & faint vinegar in the finish give it a Flemish Red vibe w/ mild bitterness & herbal notes.

Chocolate & peanut butter on the nose. I don't notice any barrel in the aroma. A quick dose of chocolate up front before the peanut butter mostly takes over. Bourbon sneaks in at the very end, but it's pretty mild. Thanks Michael!

12 January 2022 - I didn't realize 2022 bottles were aged in Cognac, Rum, and Marsala barrels. There's definitely a more fruity/grape and spirit driven nose compared to past bottles I've had. The flavor is a little more fruity, sweet, and vinous too.

Cellar cleaning continues (not that this is all that old). Really tasty and there's plenty of shelf life left, but what improvements would anyone be hoping for with more time?
Cherry and coffee just aren't a good combo for me. In the aroma they cancel out the bourborn and it comes across as straight alcohol. It all meshes together better in the flavor, but ultimately roasty cherries aren't my thing.

15 DECEMBER 2021 - Lemon, brett, faint sour apple, and funk. There's so much variation bottle to bottle (even amongst the same batches), but this bottle is up there with the best Cantillon Gueuze bottles I've had.

13 MAY 2022 - Almost perfect balance of sour/tart and jammy raspberry with some funk mixed in.
Liquid french toast with just a hint of Scotch Ale in the finish...only because I know it's there. Pushes my limits for what I want in a beer, but still tasty. Splitting a bottle is probably ideal for me.

15 FEBRUARY 2021 - Delicious, but starting to get pretty acidic

03 March 2021 - Light apple/pear up front. The finish has a lot of white wine notes mixed with lemon, a touch of vinegar, and a slight hint of funky blue cheese.

Big time coffee bomb. Considering how sweet regular WWS is...how much coffee did they use to cover that up? The 17% is completely hidden as well. Nice, but a little aggressive on the coffee since there's no real sign of the base WWS.

Musty apple, light peach, lemon, and hints of cork in the nose. Citrus, peach, and light apple up front. Light-moderate lemon and a touch of musty oak in the finish.

Moderate dusty and musty lemon, citrus, and faint barnyard on the nose. Tart citrus, stone fruits, and sour apple up front. Finishes with lemon, white wine, light musty funk, and faint oak.

Light apple and citrus up front. Light lemon and faint bretty funk in the finish. Solid, but a little.on the mild side.

Celebratory beer after watching the first half at work and the 2nd half in the car ride home.

Slightly more lemon with a little less apple than the previous bottle I had. Still pretty mild, but a little more flavorful this time around.

20 OCTOBER 2019 - Confident the year is correct and pretty sure on the month, but making my best guess on the day. One of the more funky bottles of the regular Gueuze I've had from Cantillon.

17 december 2020 - Vinous grapes, funk, and light-moderate tartness. A little more tartness would hit the sweet spot for me.
04 AUGUST 2021 - More tart, dry, and funky than the 2019 bottle I had last week. If I drank them blind, I would have picked this to be the older bottle.
Still the undisputed champion for most explosive cork popping. I couldn't include the cork in the pic because I haven't a clue where it is. If I opened this outside, I'm not sure it would have landed yet.

11 MAR 2021 (I think...the month is a bit smeared).

23 SEPTEMBER 2020 - Less tartness and funk and more sweet apple than most bottles I've had. Tastes younger than the last 2021 bottle I had.

Light cheesy funk and mild citrus tartness. Finish really dries out with light-moderate citrus/grapefruit peel.

Remindsme of St Lamvinus with a touch less grape, more lemon, and slightly more oak and funk in the finish.

5 JANUARY 2021 - Not even close to as acidic as the last bottle I had with the same date.
30 AUGUST 2021 - For me this is just about the perfect balance of tart/sweet with some light to moderate acidity.
Lots of grape up front. Mild lemon in the middle. Very vinous with a lot of red wine, grape skins, and light musty/dusty funk in the finish. Similar to the 3 Fonteinen Druif Dornfelder I had last week with less lemon notes.
Definitely better than regular Bruocsella. I would say it reminds me of the best bottles of regular Cantillon Gueuze I've had.

23 (or 28) SEPTEMBER 2020 - More apple than the De Cam I just had that was aged on apples. Still great, but I've definitely had better bottles.
Bottled 05 JANUARY 2021 - For a less than year old bottle, this is approaching some pretty intense sourness. Most of the relatively fresh bottles I've had recently have been more "jammy" with a much lighter lemony sourness.

I'm initially worried by the strong cinnamon in the nose. Luckily it's not overdone like so many other beers. Chocolate up front. Mild vanilla in the background. Coffee & light-moderate cinnamon in the flavor. Vanilla gets slightly stronger as it warms.
Floral, oak, and faint lemon aroma. Flavor is much lighter than any of the other Editions I've had. Light lemon, citrus, and apple skins up front. Light-moderate oak and mild funk in the finish. Tasty, but one of the more mild geuzes I've had.

Less tart/sour lemon, more apple, and more woody than the Classic.

Flavor seems more barley wine-ish than brown ale to me. Moderate caramel, ligtlht mint, orange peel, and cherry turns to light-moderate boozy bourbon in the finish.
