Ris a la M’ale

Fruit Beer

Ris ala M’ale is based on the Danish dessert Ris a la mande. It’s a traditional Christmas dish composed of rice pudding with whipped cream, vanilla, chopped almonds and topped with cherry sauce. When making this beer, all of the above ingredients have been used. You’ll find rice, vanilla, cream (lactose), salt, cherries and almond extract in this wonderful Christmas beer. The beer is at 8% but it feels pretty light considering the ABV. The cherries make the beer very fruity in the taste. The lactose gives it a rounder and creamier feeling, along with some sweetness. The sweet taste from the lactose is accompanied with some fruity sweetness from the cherries. You’ll also going to taste some notes of malt and caramel.

Fruity and slightly tart, like cranberry juice mixed with alcoholic cider. Rice notes and spices add a nice finish and bubbly mouthfeel.

Cherries for real. But doesn't make it all the way around the cough syrup vibe.
