French Toast Bastard

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Backwoods Bastard gets the 4-star breakfast treatment. Our bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale is introduced to maple syrup, cinnamon, and sweet vanilla for a decadent brunch-inspired sipper. Breakfast for dinner, anyone?

No surprise- it’s good, and delivers exactly as advertised: maple, vanilla & cinnamon overlays to the stellar backwoods bastard chassis. Be warned - it’s pretty sweet: sippin brew, and one is plenty

It really smells like French toast. Sweet and smooth. Very tasted; but the kind of think you only want to drink one.

Smells like super sugary French toast. Luckily not nearly as sweet in flavor. Lots of cinnamon flavor that is sweet but not overbearing. Boozy towards the end. Slight herbal medicinal notes to it but not much. Pretty good.

Very sweet, heavy maple syrup flavor and aroma, a bit too much so for me and lingered well after finishing.

Another awesome Founders BA brew. Maybe just a touch more cinnamon than I would have liked, but certainly blends well with the maple & vanilla. Breakfast time! 🍁

Big pop of vanilla, cinnamon, and maple sweet notes in the nose. Rich decadent taste that could be a little better in the taste. Can’t taste the heat from the ABV.

Ewww. Backwoods Bastard is at the top of the list of my favorite beers. To be fair, that’s what the tap said. The french toast was a surprise. Someone dripped a vanilla candle into my beer : (
