Devil Dancer (2016)

IPA - Triple

Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha's used to create this monster. More IBU's than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil.

Pulled the last one out of the vault. Then realized it was a month short of being 8.

Don’t know why I save some of these IPAs so long. Not drinkable. It’s a mashup of bitter-sour but nothing dank about it. Leaving original rating.

Aged so the hops are gone— Brawelys bartender described it as a barleywine and was spot on. Boozy and malty.

It's amazing how well the house have held up. Strong good up front, then a smooth melt sweetness. It finishes with a slight bitterness.

Nope, a beautiful beer gone bad in my beercellar. I've kept this bottle to long. Not drinkable 😢 It's not right to give this a rating.

It’s actually a’13 but I checked that year in already. The heat has certainly mellowed. You can tell it was a high hop beer at some point but it’s faded into a barleywine.

Of course, it’s more like a barley wine now. But let’s be honest, that was the point. Heavy sweet malty boozy goodness with a still kick in the pants of hops. It was bottled with 112 ibu’s on 5/10/16. I only have one bottle left now. Cheers y’all.

Like 2 more years and this would be a great barleywine. Too much hop bite for now.

What a frickin' treat. I fabulous 5 year old Devil Dancer. 05/02/2016. Sweet caramel malts, big dank citrusy hops that roll to the side of the tongue- all give way to a mature smokey finish. Missed you old friend.

My “last of these gems” beer. Getting into the cellar today. Founds this a few years ago and decided it was time. It’s like a more bitter barleywine. Quite good! I still remember the time Clayton C. found this in the area, years ago!
