Boozy and sweet, with flavors of fig and raisins. Aging well.

Malt is gone. No burn. Tons of Caramel. Bit of sweetness. Starting to get a bit oxidized though. Still much better than the OG I had on draft years ago. But then again, it’s an eisbock. Basically made for aging.

My opinion on this beer remains unchained after 3 years. A bigger sweeter backwoods bastard. The booze has died down and drinks much smoother than 15%. This is probably a 4.25 beer but for nostalgia and hitting the spot today.... 4.5

Dude...this was worth the wait. A 2017 bottle of bourbon barrel aged eisbock proved itself worthy of a 4+ rating. Smooth as a slip n’ slide but hefty as a quality trash bag. So smooth and drinkable and a true treat for any stout lover.

3 years later…. The fruit mellows but booze does not. More barrel aged flavor now than when I drank his brother 3 years ago
