Dirty Bastard (2023)

8.5% ABV Scotch Ale. Bottled 12/29/2022, so assuming this is the 2023 version. As good as always. Been quite a while since I have had this, still a great example of the style.

Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA (2023)

17% ABV BBA Tripel IPA. Bottled 04/10/23. Mildly sweet bourbon and caramel flavors over the hoppy TIPA base. Excellent, even though the hop flavors are dying off already.

60 Minute IPA

6% ABV American IPA. When your flight is delated 3 hours, they should give you free beers in the airport. 😁

KBS Spicy Chocolate (2023)

LCI. 12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Well done with balanced flavors of chocolate, bourbon barrel, and mild chili pepper heat.

All Day Haze 2024

4.9% ABV Session Hazy. Actually very tasty with nice hoppy flavors in a lighter bodied IPA. Could definitely drink a lot of these on a boat, golf course, BBQ, . . . etc

Citrus Squall

8% ABV Golden Ale. Lime peel, agave nectar, and sea salt flavors. Unique, high ABV, and tasty Golden Ale. Actually pretty tasty.

90 Minute Imperial IPA (2023)

LCI. 9% ABV IIPA. I haven't had this beer in a minute . . . or 90. 😆 Still a solid IIPA with malt balance and piney hoppiness.

Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout

LCI. 17.2% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. A very good Imperial Stout made incredible by a long slumber in Utopias Barrels. Wow!

KBS Spicy Chocolate

12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Well done with balanced flavors of chocolate, bourbon barrel, and mild chili pepper heat. For a Mole style beer, this is extremely good.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2015)

10 6% ABV Maple BBA Imperial Stout. This was my original Whale Beer. Cellared this one for quite awhile. Nicely done and aged well.

Spontanyuzu

7.7% ABV Lambic. Tart, fruity, and mildly funky with flavors of oranges and lemons. Well done and unique flavors for the style.

Mortal Bloom

6.2% ABV Hazy IPA. Decent Hazy with juicy, hoppy flavors of papaya, mango, grapefruit, and orange.

The Headless Gourdsman 2023

13.1% ABV BBA Imperial Yam Beer. Sweeter than I would prefer, but nice balanced flavors of bourbon, Yam, baking spices, and maple.

Wake Up World Wide Stout (2022)

15.3% ABV Imperial Coffee Stout. Cold brewed coffee with hints of maple and unrefined sugar. Slightly boozy, but not bad for the ABV.

Raison D'Extra

16.5% ABV Imperial Brown Ale. Big, bold, boozy Brown with mildly sweet brown sugar and big malty flavors. Undertones of raisins.

French Toast Bastard 2023

11.1% ABV BBA Scotch Ale. Nice combination of bourbon, malts, maple, and very mild cinnamon. Well done but I can only drink small amounts of this at a time.

60 Minute IPA

6% ABV IPA. Nicely hopped, and I see they are now calling this a session IPA? Just passing through Miami on the way to S. America.

Mothership Series Barrel-aged Marvelroast

11.1% ABV BBA Imperial White Coffee Stout. Bourbon, coffee, vanilla, and hints of chocolate. Tasty damn brew!

All Day IPA

4.7% ABV Session IPA. Nicely done for a session.

4 Giants Starcatcher Haze

6.6% ABV Hazy IPA. Nice citrusy and pineapple hop notes. Mildly sweet with some tanginess.

The Headless Gourdsman

LCI. 13.1% ABV BBA Imperial Yam Beer. Maple and bourbon barrel add some nice flavors to this lightly boozy brew. Pumpkin and spices are also there.

Founders Oktoberfest (2023)

LCI. 6% ABV Märzen. True to German Reinheitsgebot! Rich malty biscuits drizzled with honey and mild hop notes. One of the better American versions of this German classic style.

KBS Blueberry

11.2% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Chocolate and blueberries are predominant with undertones of vanilla, coffee, and oak. Too sweet or would be rated higher.

17% ABV BBA IIPA. Holy shit this is good. Nice bourbon flavors with solid hoppiness.

Incredible Godsmack concert. If you haven't seen these guys, do it on this tour! Only my 3rd time, but this is an incredible show.

Reds Rye (2023)

6.6% ABV Rye IPA. So smooth and with rye spice adding to the hop profile.

Frootwood (2022)

8% ABV BBA Fruit Beer. Nice bourbon covered cherry flavors on a lighter bodied brew.

KBS Chocolate Cherry (2022)

LCI. 11.6% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Chocolate, Cherry, and Bourbon flavors are all there and well balanced. Nobody dominates.

Mothership Series: Blushing Padre

10.8% ABV Tequila BA Belgian Strong. Huge fresh raspberry flavors with mild tequila barrel on the finish. Well done Founders!

Chocolate Cherry KBS

11.6% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Mild coffeee, dark chocolate, cherry, and hints of bourbon barrel. Blown keg taster, thanks Danny!

Nitro Imperial Breakfast Stout

9.8% ABV Imperial Stout. Very creamy on Nitro that allows the flavors to shine. Dark chocolate, espresso, and roasted malts. Excellent!

4 Giants Tropical Treasure

7.5% ABV Hazy IPA. Hoppy tropical fruit flavors of sweet clementine, mango, and pineapple. Softer body and very easy drinking.

Sweet Repute (2022)

12.8% ABV BBA Wheat Wine. Thinner bodied with delicious bourbon presence that enhances the toffee and caramel of the base beer. Maple flavors is there but doesn't overpower.

Tropical 4 Giants Hazy

8.6% ABV Hazy DIPA. Big tropical fruit hoppiness in a fairly smooth bodied DIPA. ABV is well disguised.

French Toast Bastard (Barrel Aged Series 2022)

11.1% ABV BBA Scotch Ale. The flavors of maple, vanilla and cinnamon explode in a sweet treat with bourbon in the background. Could only drink one of these in a given night.

Red's Rye IPA

6.6% ABV Red IPA. Tastes great after a great round of golf. Shot 76 for lowest round of the year. Hoppy citrus and pine with rye malt spiciness.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2022)

12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Super smooth and tasty on Nitro. Chocolate, coffee, bourbon and hints of caramel. Great brew every year.

4 Giants IPA (2022)

8.4% ABV DIPA. Juicy hoppiness with pineapple and citrus fruits flavors all wrapped up in a smooth medium body.

Mango Magnifico (2022)

10% ABV Imperial Fruit Beer. Medium body with flavors of sweet ripe mangos, hanañero and mild pepper spiciness. Smooth and fruity for the high ABV.

Ultimate Oktoberfest

10% ABV BBA Märzen. This is slightly better on draft. Malty Märzen base is a nice launching pad for bourbon flavors of toffee, vanilla and butterscotch. 4.25 on tap.

All Day Chill Day

4.8% ABV Cold IPA. Very hop flavorful with floral and lemony flavors to balance the Lager yeast and cereal malt notes. Rating this as the best Session IPA I have ever had.

Ultimate Oktoberfest (2022)

10% ABV BBA Marzen. The malty Oktoberfest base works well with the Bourbon Barrel notes of caramel, toasted vanilla and butterscotch.

4 Giants IPA (2022)

8.4% ABV Hazy IIPA. Nice hoppy fruit flavors of orange, mango and tropical citrus in a smooth and easy drinking IIPA.

Punkin Ale (2022)

7% ABV Pumpkin Beer. Decent beer for the style with lots of pumpkin and enough brown sugar and lighter cinnamon and nutmeg.

Oktoberfest 2022

6% ABV Märzen. Clean with biscuity maltiness and honey sweetness.

8% ABV Hard Seltzer. Moderately sweet and lemony without being overly carbonated.

Mas Agave Imperial Hard Lemonade Cherry

8% ABV Imperial Hard Seltzer. Actually not bad for the style. Cherry and lemon flavors without too much carbonation.

Mas Agave Clasica Lime 2021

10% ABV Tequila BA Imperial Gose. Pretty damn delicious and hard to believe it's a beer. Agave nectar, lime, tequila and salt. Doesn't that make a margarita?? 🤫

Centennial IPA

7.2% ABV IPA. It's Toad!!!!

Devil Dancer (2015)

12% ABV TIPA bottled 04/24/2015. The annual shot show that is the Festival of the Hills. 2nd largest fireworks in Michigan. Time to pour this in my Yeti and join the masses at Borden Park. 0.33 mile walk.

Where the Wild Hops Are

6.5% ABV American IPA. Hoo flavors of orange, herbal and floral with a clean dry finish.

Belgian Twist

10% ABV Belgian Style Tripel. Banana and bubblegum Belgian yeast esters with some added sweetness from the Blue Agave nectare. Pretty damn tasty!

Peace

10% ABV BBA Belgian Abbey Ale. Old Ale maltiness with mild coffee and bourbon barrel with some hops to balance. Bumped up 0.25 for uniqueness.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2016)

5% ABV Lambic Blend. Effervescent with delicious tart raspberry and sour fruitiness. Thank you Joe H. !

KBS Hazelnut

12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Flavors of hazelnut coffee and chocolate. Barrel flavors are mild.

Red’s Rye IPA 2021

6.6% ABV Amber IPA. Toasted red malts paired with citrusy Amarillo hops. Tasty IPA.

Beer Geek Cocoa Shake

12.1% ABV Imperial Stout. Smooth body with dark roast coffee, dark chocolate and mild dark fruits. Really freakin tasty!

Tank Bender

15% ABV BBA Eisbock. Big boozy caramel and vanilla flavors with some bourbon barrel undertones. Thank you Joe H. for this rare treat.

4 Giants Hazy IPA

8.4% ABV Imperial Hazy IPA. Oats & wheat soften the body but the hops add big (maybe even gigantic 😆) ripe citrus fruit flavors. Light alcohol lurking in the background.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa (2021)

12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. The cinnamon is not my first choice for adjuncts (maybe last?), but this combination with vanilla, cocoa and light bourbon is actually pretty damn tasty.

Nitro KBS

12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Creamy smooth on Nitro and it also really let's the flavors thrive. Coffee, dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and mild charred oak. I may never want carbonated KBS again!

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021)

12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Balanced flavors of dark roasted coffee, bourbon barrel and chocolate malts.

Castle Black Stout

13.6% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Rich dark chocolate, vanilla and bourbon all balanced in a light sweet Imperial Stout in a smooth & moderately thick body.

KBS Espresso

12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Good blend of chocolate,espresso and bourbon barrel. Really tasty coffee stout!

Frootwood (2021)

8% ABV BBA Cherry Ale. Decent brew with cherry, light maple and light bourbon in a light bodied Ale.

Slightly Mighty

LCI. 4% Li Cal IPA. Very light and sessionable, but very light IPA flavor as well.

Oude Geuze Boon

7% ABV Gueuze Lambic. Tart lemony fruitiness with mild funkiness and a clean dry finish.

SeaQuench Ale (2021)

4.9% ABV Session Sour. Light bodied with lots of lime flavor and very light salinity.

120 Minute IPA (2014)

18% ABV Quad IPA. After 7 years it has a big boozy caramelly flavor but still retains some earthy hoppiness! Still a delicious brew

Spectra Trifecta (2015)

5.9% ABV Kolsch. Light bodied with flavors of lemon grass, ginger, and tea. Held up well for 6 years of list in the fridge.

Geuze Boon Sélection

6.3% ABV Gueuze Lambic. Tart and fruity with almost no carbonation. Interesting and very drinkable but almost a wine like feel. Dry and tary fruits.

Centennial IPA

7.2% ABV DH West Coast style IPA. Fresh hoppiness with floral and citrus dominating. Always like this IPA and it was particularly delicious on this 41°F golf day. Been awhile, but "Hi Scott"

Velvet Rush

11.1% ABV BBA Imperial Brown Ale. Solid coffee, chocolate, vanilla and bourbon barrel flavors. Yum!

Scarlet Dawn IPA

5.1% ABV Session Red IPA. Not as light as you would expect with very solid Red IPA flavors. Good job Founders.

Mr. Brown 2019 Edition

9% ABV Imperial Brown. A lot going on with coffee, hazelnut, caramel, vanilla, cocoa and chocolate fudge. Maybe too much . . .

4.5% ABV Hard Seltzer. Carbonated and light fruity with light strawberry. Not extremely terrible. 🤔 Thanks Brian!

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa

12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Decently balanced flavors of coffee, cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla with mild barrel aged flavors. Tough combo of flavors but well done.

Founders Oktoberfest (2021)

6% ABV Marzen. Malty with some honey flavored sweetness.

4.7% ABV Session IPA. Stepping it down briefly . . . but only because this is the best beer here. Kick ass tables made of Mackinaw Bridge grating. Daughter's Birthday Party. 🎉

Black (2015)

15.7% ABV Imperial Stout. Best by 10/22/2025. Sweet but bitter with a boozy finish. Almost a Cafe Cubano flavor. This is actually growing on me.

Backwoods Bastard 2021

11% ABV BBA Scotch Ale. Always great year after year. Bourbon, lightly charred oak, caramel and light hoppy spiciness.

Lizard of Koz (2015)

10.5% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. After 6 years age it is still blueberry forward with vanilla and chocolate. No BBA notes at all.

Game of Thrones - Iron Anniversary IPA

7% ABV NE Style IPA. Pineapple, grapefruit, mango and pine resin hop flavors. I was not expecting much, but this is pretty tasty.

Más Agave Prickly Pear

9.7% ABV Imperial Gose. Big sweet prickly pear flavor with a hint of salinity. Too sweet. Thank for the share Jack!

KBS Espresso (2020)

12% ABV BBA Imperial Stout. Boozy espresso, chocolate and bourbon. Always a tasty option and paired well today with Jamaican salt fish fritters.

Imperial Stout (2020)

10.5% ABV Russian Imperial Stout. Smooth body with lots of roasted malt flavors. Exactly how it should be. Getting St. Patrick's Day started out right.

Panther Cub (2021)

9.2% ABV BBA Imperial Porter. Balanced flavors of cocoa, bourbon, vanilla and maple syrup. Really well done brew.

Blå Spøgelse

7.7% ABV Fruited Sour. Tart blueberry and oak.

Underground Mountain Brown (2020)

11.9% ABV BBA Imperial Brown. Nicely balanced bourbon barrel and coffee flavors. Pretty good price too.

Sun-Day-Feels

6.5% ABV Fruited Sour. Light bodied with funky fruity flavors. Peach, lemon-lime and grape stand out in this fruit salad.

Midas Touch

9% ABV Ancient Ale. Really like the story behind this beer! I can taste malted barley, honey, grape must and the earthy floral flavors of saffron. Really cool brew! King Midas approved. 👑

Devil Dancer (2019)

From my archives: 12% ABV & 112 IBU TIPA. 10 hop varietals = pine, grapefruit, citrusy flavors balanced by caramel maltiness. Excellent nose!

Moon Rambler IPA

6.4% ABV American IPA. Azacca, Cascade & Mosaic hops and wheat & oats provide low bitterness and soft mouthfeel with tropical fruit flavors.
