Raison D'Extra

Belgian Strong Dark Ale

A bigger, bolder version of our Raison D'Etre. This is a bulbous brown ale brewed with a bunch of malt, brown sugar and raisins.

This a few years older and is still very good. Belgian strong with a deep maltiness. Dark cherry colour, deep raisin notes that have mellowed with that time.

Had it since 2019. Went down pretty smooth. Lot of raisin notes. Great malty body.

Boozy little nightcap thanks to the cousins, not much raisin flavor but as the bottle indicates; it has aged well!

2014 vintage, so this beer is 10 years old. I wish they still made this beer.

The gold standard for Barleywine brews! Total dried fruit (raisins 🙄) in a boozy brew!

Bought this at least 7 or 8 years ago, so quite aged. Still boozy as heck.

The fact that this was so huge and implacable after 5 years in the bottle is a testament to the stature of this brew. Tons of sweet fig and raisin flavor with light funk and rich malt with burned brown sugar. Glad I got to try it. Great beer.

Most assuredly a sweet boozy nose to this with plenty of raisins. The taste is an absolute delight. Still the same boozy body but there is a lot of sugary stuff going on. Wished it sticks around longer but the nearly wine-taste is quite good. DF can do m
