10% of good beer. Easy drinking even for the potency.

No. It's not good. Smells and tastes too boozy.

Slight coffee and bourbon taste. Clean finish. Taste is of a normal porter style beer but at 10%. Decent beer.

Beautiful vanilla oak aroma with hint of coffee. Seems like it should be a winter beer but perfect on a mild summer night.

TAG

10% ABV BBA Belgian Abbey Ale. Old Ale maltiness with mild coffee and bourbon barrel with some hops to balance. Bumped up 0.25 for uniqueness.

Too old sadly. Rates 3 for what it is.

This is from 2016, aged at Happy Raven until it settled at my home in April 2020. This a complex mix of boozy, dark, ripe fruit, and almond. SO SMOOTH!

Coffee H2H #2/6: Hot, unbalanced BBA. Bourbon comes across from outset, but ‘Belgiany’ quality plays second fiddle & coffee aspect is an utter afterthought. Merits revisiting versus other barrel ales, but fails the hybridization test for today’s tasting.
