Blushing Monk

Fruit Beer

Blushing Monk is brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries and with a Belgian yeast strain that keeps our head cellar operator from sleeping for a week. It pours a stunning deep berry red and, at 9.2% ABV, has a surprising kick. The perfect dessert beer, it can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh cheeses, fruit, cakes and more.

Super smooth, does not drink like a 9.2, this one is dangerous but delicious.

Not too sweet, and I can taste the raspberry. Creamy, but not very interesting.

When I was a younger, less traveled beer drinker, I had a rule: “No fruit in beer”. Sans a lime in my Corona. The more mature me thoroughly enjoys a fruited beer, and Blushing Monk nails it with explosive raspberry goodness! Tart, sweet, and refreshing!

Not much of an aroma, maybe a hint of raspberry. The beer is very sweet with the raspberry very prevalent. At 9.2% it does indeed have a bit of a hit. I like it.
